He's not bad. He's just not Kerrigan.

Plenty of time for him to develop into that though. I think he has upside still.

I really think we should draft best available safety. But we need sleeper free agency, address the oline there with proven talent. No luavos. We sucked bad, now we finally have a top pick. Lets stop trading things please. Just let it all happen.

Also, if we are using those particular stats as metrics to justify whether a player is good or not, then we are stacked at Strong Safety! Meriweather had three sacks!

I'm not even looking at stats. There's enough tape to show he's anything but terrible.

Wait, what? Your justification for why he is good is based on an article that delves into those stats.

I am only seeing one QB worth drafting in the first in that matchup

Murphy was BEAST against the run. Giving up on him after ONE SEASON is very Redskins-fan of us. He was great holding the edge. I don't remember Orakpo dominating his first year except against that Raiders 5th string tackle. Same with Kerrigan.

Orakpo had 11 sacks his first year (7 without those four from Oakland). Kerrigan had 7.5 sacks.

I'm glad Murphy is good against the run, but he was brought here to be a pass rusher, and he doesn't seem to rush the passer very well.

Yes he is superb against the run, he can be coached up to rush the passer and adding a good D lineman or 2 that can collapse the pocket from within will only help.

He was brought in as a situational pass rusher who didn't start all 16 games like Kerrigan and Rak did their rookie seasons

The breakdown I posted goes deeper than stats.

But if stats are what you're hung up on check his numbers after week 8.
