I have to agree, I was 6 rows from the field when he rocked the Terps this year. He has amazing talent and has eaten, breathed and slept football since he was in the womb. His football IQ is off the charts. This thoroughbred has a great bloodline, plus Howie would give us more coverage on sundays which is always nice. |

Re: If The Redskins Had the First Overall Pick...
I am going to reiterate Chris Long. There are great college football players and there are GREAT college football players. This guy, every single time I saw him play, was in on every play. UVa needed a big D play and voila there was Chris Long. Quite seriously if he had been on a decent team that challenged for a championship he would have been a Heisman canidate. Every single game he played he was the best player on the field. I don't know if I can accurately convey how good he is. I just can't imagine he isn't going to be just as dominant at the next level.

Re: If The Redskins Had the First Overall Pick...
According to Scouts Inc., here are the top 32 players in the draft. According to the grades, Darren McFadden, Chris Long, Jake Long, Glenn Dorsey and Matt Ryan are all even. My personal choice would be Jake Long.
Player Pos. School Grade 1. Darren McFadden RB Arkansas 98 2. Chris Long DE Virginia 98 3. Jake Long OT Michigan 98 4. Glenn Dorsey DT LSU 98 5. Matt Ryan QB Boston Coll. 98 6. Sedrick Ellis DT USC 97 7. Ryan Clady OT Boise St. 96 8. Keith Rivers LB USC 96 9. Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois 96 10. Vernon Gholston DE Ohio State 96 11. Branden Albert G Virginia 95 12. Re: If The Redskins Had the First Overall Pick...
Jake Long. I think it's more than fair to say that if J.Long hadn't gone first, he would have gone in the top 5. Since 1995, these eight tackles have been taken in the top 5:
Joe Thomas, Levi Brown, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Robert Gallery, Jordan Gross, Mike Williams, Chris Samuels, Orlando Pace, Tony Boseli. While you run this risk of getting a Mike Williams, there is a good chance that your getting a perenial pro-bowl or all-pro player if you take a tackle who is considered to be worthy of a top 5 pick. |

Re: If The Redskins Had the First Overall Pick...
Glenn Dorsey. It's easier to generate an outside rush without elite DEs than to generate an inside rush without an elite DT. Moreover, if I had to choose between generating an outside rush or an inside rush, I'd take the inside rush every day of the week. Jake Long would be nice, but I think we have bigger needs along the Dline.
