Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

This will screw the Cowboys worse than us if it stands. They were already right on the salary cap, we had a ton of room to spare, but maybe not now.

Hopefully we can still get a WR and spread some of the damage to next season.

Are we and Dallas really the only offenders? Tough to believe, if we really violated anything.

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

I understand the NFL thinking and still think smart thing to do, but is there any appeal process?

Atogwe first casualty since he counts as $0 dead cap and was owed. 3.4 mil. Could belong in another thread as well but...

The 13 mil cap room comes with us absorbing half of the 36 mil this year.

this sucks, but they had to see this coming. it might also be a blessing, now we are going to have to spend wisely and not break the bank on the big names.

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

So how are they going to improve the team the next couple of years? ....with no cap space or high draft picks?? They better be dead on with the mid rounders. Sorry but this is piss poor management. How did they not know this was going to happen??

Without a doubt D-hall and OJ are gone. Hall will account for 6.2 mil and OJ for 3.4 mil. LATERZ!!

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

one issue i have with this that i havent seen mentioned yet is the short notice. why wait almost 2 years from the alleged "wrongdoing" and spring something on teams 24 hours away from free agency?

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

That's bs. If the NFL approved the contracts during the uncapped year, how can they turn around and do this?

All the same though I'm sure this FO knew what it was doing when it was doing it. If this stands they'll just have to adjust.

I think this is piss poor management by the NFL. They could have at least warned the teams in advance. A lot of people were praising the Cowboys and Redskins for using the uncapped year. Although, as bad as this looks, the Cowboys are in worst shape...they have to make cuts to absorb even half of this money.

Word is that the Saints and Raiders are also violators but their punishment is that they wont get any of the cap space from us and the Cowboys.

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

Wow, the NFL could not have gotten us at a worse time. 1 day before free agency. I know the league office is judge, jurry, and executioner; but in a case where we broke no rules yet are severely punnished Is there a higher power we can appeal to? Like a court?
