Very interested starting in the 4th round.

This guy was already being called the #1 overall pick as a freshman, he has all the talent, he just needs to remember that he is good.

Re: Redskins Pre-Draft Visits

Hackenburg would be a steal in the 4th or 5th round. I think my only concern is a willingness to work and to be coached. My problem is he kinda shut it down under the Franklin staff which is troubling. So maturity is a factor.

hackenburg is a gamble. FO likes to look at the progress of a college QB's completion %, and on that count, he's going the wrong way. 54% isn't very good. There is potential though and if it's 4th round on, that's not a super high cost to take a chance. just don't get your hopes too high.

Re: Redskins Pre-Draft Visits

From Jon Gruden on working with Hackenberg

1.

I'll be shocked if Hackenberg is not a first-round pick

The biggest surprise to me on Hackenberg is that no one is really talking about him in the first round. This was the No. 1 prospect in the nation a few years ago and someone who showed during his freshman year he could produce at a high level in a true NFL-style offense. What he showed during that first year at Penn State -- before the coaching change, before the system change, before all the things that derailed him -- would be enough for me to take this guy early. This man can run a 4.7-second 40, he is tough as hell and he works relentlessly. He just has to get in the right system with the right people and refocus on the small details.

2 Memories are too short when it comes to this QB

Hackenberg threw for 3,000 yards as an 18-year-old kid in an NFL offense that is hard to execute. I do not think people are giving him enough credit for that. The alert signals they had when Bill O'Brien was coaching him were straight out of the New England Patriots playbook. You might see 12-15 alerts per game. The quarterback's control at the line of scrimmage was similar to the Patriots'. We all have seen Tom Brady point to his temples countless times at the line of scrimmage. They had the same alerts and mannerisms at Penn State. For a freshman to be given that type of autonomy at the line of scrimmage is unusual. When you see the same plays from the same formations that the Patriots are running, with the same audible mannerisms, you are like, "Wow, this is cool."

Bolded is very key imo. Hackenberg showed his ass in an NFL, pro style offense with Obrien. Dude balled the fuck out when Obrien was there. hands down, balled the fuck out

Re: Redskins Pre-Draft Visits

Hackenburg was a trending down player. But I think it was the talent and the team around him more than it was him. He has the skills and the smarts. He's going to have to get into the right organization that will let him sit and learn for a few years. New England may be the perfect place for him. If I were the Redskins I would pass on taking him in the 4th round. We need a 4th rounder that can come in and contribute right away.

Re: Redskins Pre-Draft Visits

CBS Sports has him a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
Why are we even talking to this guy?

BPA and McC & Gruden.

Gruden already stated him and McC agree they need a 3rd developmental QB. McC did a lot of interviewing at the combine with QBs...think he interviewed 3 or 4. So he allocated a set amount of interviews towards that position, kinda was a head scratcher for me, but ive come around. Why not grab one to develop. He could fall.

Seems like the draft visit list is a list of people they DON'T want... I'll just remember the months January->April and try to ignore all of the Mock Drafts, Draft visit lists, and hype -- because pretty much no one can predict McC picks anyway...

Trusting in McC, picks look good. Would've liked to have 4th rounder back.
