tough ff lineup questions...

okay, I've got some pretty tough decisions here:

QBs:

Carson Palmer @ Baltimore
Derek Anderson @ Pitt

or the wild card, Kurt Warner at home vs. Detroit...

RBs, top two:

Clinton Portis vs Phi
Adrian Peterson vs Green Bay
Edgerrin James vs Detroit

everything else is pretty much set.. but im worried that the GB D is good and will be run blitzing peterson all day... and edge vs detroit is a pretty good matchup... but do you ever bench adrian peterson? I think I'll stick with CP against the eagles...

On QB, anderson has been great, but the steelers d is great, and I think he's benched, unless someone can convince me otherwise...

so, Palmer playing against a streaky baltimore d who gave up 5 tds in one half to pitt, or warner playing against a detriot d who is soft, but very very opportunistic...

warner is at home and palmer and anderson are on the road...

Warner has the best matchup by far, but if you feel you are giving too much in talent (as you probably are), then you have to roll with Palmer.

Peterson is a must start until proven otherwise, GB hasn't been anything special against the run this year. Personally, I would go with Portis as your no. 2

Re: tough ff lineup questions...

I'd start Palmer. Baltimore's secondary is almost more riddled with injuries than the Skins (McAllister - Doubtful, Rolle - Questionable), and even if one or both come back, they won't be at 100%. Plus Palmer gets Chris Henry back...and would be a suitable plug if Ocho can't go. Warner could be a nice start against a soft Lions pass D, so I'd pay attention Saturday into Sunday before making a decision.

Adrian Peterson is a must start until he's wheeled off on a stretcher. I'd also give the edge to Portis as your 2nd option. I'd imagine the Cards will try to throw the ball more. Plus, Edge has only 1 100 yard rushing day, and only has 2 TDs in the last 4 games.

That says it all for me. Although I will add not to go with Warner...Palmer is still the safer choice, even with CJ out, Henry could step up and do very well.

Re: tough ff lineup questions...

I think of all three QB's you mentioned, Warner has the opportunity to have the biggest game of the three, but is also the biggest risk to flop. Detroit has been very good of late.

I'd say your best bet is Palmer against an injury riddled, very recently exposed Ravens D. They'll be looking to prove something at home after that beating Pitt handed them, but I don't think they can overcome all those injuries.

I wouldn't touch Derek Anderson with a 10 foot pole. The Steelers are red hot right now, and I think this is the game Cleveland has some water tossed that surprising offense.

As far as RB, Peterson is a must start regardless of opponent. Portis is your best bet for #2 RB. He and our run game are hot, we're playing at home after two tough road games. Edge is cold and so are the Cardinals.

I agree with starting Palmer, but I wouldn't touch Warner against the Lions with a 300ft pole. The Lions D is leading the League in INT's.

I agree with starting Peterson, no one has stopped him. As far as Portis and James are concerned, I would go with James. He is due for a 100 yard game, and the Lions D is soft against the run. Portis on the other hand has not had much success on the ground against NFC East teams.

Well, yes, he is legit cause that offense is powerful. But he played a team that held him to only 123 yards passing. No one should throw for 3 tds with only 123 yards passing. That's very unusual. It also appears that Anderson disappeared after the half.

ps- Palmer has already thrown for 184 yards, and it's not even half time yet.

Well, he's definitely not performing like he did last year.

Re: tough ff lineup questions...

There was question as to whether Cutler would even play...

Me on the other hand, I sat Anderson for Kitna because of the Steelers D. However, the week prior, Anderson had no TDs because Jamal Lewis has 4 TDs on 6 yards...they just threw the ball this week.

In my keeper league, I broke a 4 game losing streak because Vinatieri blew the game for the Colts. Won by .20 points...
