Re: Minority Owners of the Skins Want Out.
Wait a second ...
Should we really be calling them "minority owners"?? I mean ... that can be taken so many ways. And not many of those ways are really ... good. We are trying to be a non-offensive franchise now, right? |

Re: Minority Owners of the Skins Want Out.
According to Kevin Sheehan, it is possible that the minority owners and the NFL could force Snyder to sell his majority ownership...so this could be big. I hate losing the Redskins name, but if it came with getting Snyder out, it would be worth it.

Dan's going to fight tooth, and nail to try to keep the team.

I haven't listened to that episode but it sounds like the podcast version of clickbait.

The situation with the minority owners and the NFL forcing Snyder out seems to be gaining traction. This would be amazing if true. Getting Snyder out of this organization would probably be the best thing that ever happened in NFL history.

Re: Minority Owners of the Skins Want Out.
Listening to Sheehan right now, it's an interesting point. If the minority owners can't find someone to buy in plan B could be to buy out Snyder. Or maybe it's plan A, a coup basically. Very interesting.

Sounds like Smith has been advocating for a name change for a while and both him and Schar have tried to sell shares prior but can't find buyers. |

Re: Minority Owners of the Skins Want Out.
It is hard for me to see a force out of Dan Snyder. Perhaps if he decides to keep the name and Fed Ex, Nike and Pepsi stick to their financial boycott and it begins to have greater league impact. Bezos' is interesting based on that article not just because of his finances but because of his streaming service. Having a competent high profile owner in what should be a desirable market has to be appealing to the league.

Re: Minority Owners of the Skins Want Out.
Apparently most of Snyder's wealth is tied up in the team. If he's truly not on board with the name change and he's had enough, perhaps he'd consider a buyout.
One can dream. |

Re: Minority Owners of the Skins Want Out.
I think this is the most plausible scenario. I wouldn't be surprised if he sold prior to the name change so his legacy isn't as the owner who changed the team's name.
