Cooley and Kevin made me come around on Murray a bit. As long as it’s a reasonable deal there’s no doubt he would be an upgrade and we could still draft someone. And he knows Callahan well.

Yeah that's the deal there, he was great with Bill in Dallas, he's 30 but other guys have stayed productive at 30, Forte, Faulk, Martin etc. It can be done.

I listened to the same Cooley broadcast as Matty.

If he can actually make the right read and cut, and press the edge, 30 or not, he would be better than anyone on the roster in 1st and 2nd downs. CT excluded of course.

I would be for very short term deal.

2 year deal for like 6M seems like a solid deal for him. 3m a year for a 30 yo RB isn't too bad.

wouldn't mind murray at the right price, of course. RB is a tricky position for us right now it seems. Do you draft one in the first? I can't see that being touted as that pressing of a need for the FO brass or Jay but who knows what kind of smoke screens they are throwing up.

I would rather us just draft someone in the first two rounds and have our guy for the future.

I still believe Perine can get better but he will never be a back that scares a defense, he's more of a truckload short yardage guy.. I'm all for drafting a RB but I still think we should trade down to do that, unless Barkley was at 13 (which is not happening)

Why get DeMarco Murray when we can get AP?

Arizona Cardinals expected to release RB Adrian Peterson on Monday

If those two don't work out, I'm sure there's another old running back seeking one more payday before his legs give out that we can bring in.

AD is 33 , and has had way more wear and tear.

True, however I don't see the need to invest in any running backs whose best days are behind them.

Re: 'No doubt about it,' Redskins need to upgrade at running back

i'd love to find a back for the future, too. But as well all know there are no sure things, so is drafting near the top of the draft a great idea with some of the other holes we have on the team? Not IMO - but signing an aging vet isn't the be all end all answer, either, in this case. Thats why the f/o and talent guys get paid the big bucks, so hopefully they figure this bs out.

D. Murray can come in and give us a much improved running game for the next two years, so if there is mutual interest, I say let's go for it.

It’s always nice to have “the future” at a position but sometimes you just need a guy to get you to the future.

The more I study up on the draft it seems like going defense at 13 makes the most sense, will there be a RB in the 2nd worth taking? I’m not so sure.

They always say better 1 round too early than 1 pick too late.
