I don't believe in bad luck 5 years in a row.

First and foremost, they need players that can standup to 16 games a season. Let's look at the decision to keep Lauvao last year.

You expect him to miss games. His backup went down early in the preseason, that was bad luck. They don't find a dedicated backup and have to shift the line when Lauvao does breakdown, week 3 or 4. Then they start bringing in guys off the street to play and they end up injured because 2 weeks earlier, they were working out at 24 hour fitness and they aren't used to game speed. If they had replaced Lauvao before the season started we might still have Alex Smith at QB.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but Chico was calling this shit out in preseason last year.
Actually Dan and Bruce are in charge.

Jay has plenty of faults but you haven't pointed out any evidence that any decision Gruden has made has contributed to the task of injuries.

But, who needs evidence when you have so much certainty...

It just seems like Jamf just want a scapegoat to blame on, and honestly we cannot blame Jamf for that. We have had terrible luck with injuries last few years, bad enough for it to ruin our season (especially last year) and someone had to take on the blame, might as well as blame it on Gruden.

Have you heard me talk about the TE position endlessly this offseason? The red flags are easy to see, but if the plan by the front office is too simply "cross fingers" then they have to shoulder a lot of the blame. But its known Gruden likes "his guys" and a lot of times those guys aren't getting it done. Im legit worried about Reed/Vernon Davis at TE this year...again. Gruden, front office...blame to go around

One thing about ILB...I know its early, but they really like the rookie Cole Holcomb and they signed Jon Bostic. While its bad news, not all is lost...Foster, Hamilton, Bostic, Holcomb, Harvey-Clemons isn't a terrible core there.

We signed Jon Bostic given the Foster injury. Don't know much about him, except 5 teams in 7 years or some shit. Prolly just another body.

Bostic is just a body. Dion Hamilton is going to really have to step in there and be a force. Problem is he's another guy who's injury prone. What are the chances he actually plays 16 games? Slim.

Bostic is little more than JAG - he is good at run defense but not so much at passing coverage. I'm sure Hamilton will be #1 guy at that spot now but I won't be surprised if Bostic is next up if Hamilton gets injured or doesn't play well within few games.

The "Aww shucks, bad luck struck again" approach doesn't work for me 5 years in a row.

It's the coaches responsibility to right this ship and he hasn't done it.

well, London Fletcher isn't walking through the door. We drafted young guys to develop at ILB, time is here to put up Harvey-Clemons, Hamilton and Rook

What has Gruden done or not done that you disagree with regarding injuries?

Re: Reuben Foster carted off with apparent leg injury

Blaming Jay for Foster's injury is just dumb. The guy stepped wrong and got rolled up. Nothing could have been done to prevent it.

Re: Reuben Foster carted off with apparent leg injury

Bostic seems like a solid sign. I also recently heard that Mason Foster has trimmed down this offseason.
