Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)

I'm just saying I don't see a reason why RGIII wouldn't be ready. He's extremely bright and talented. I just think it would be a disappointment if he's not ready to play right off the bat.

Agree...RG3/Rex is probably fine.

The boo birds and chants of RG3 are going to start at the 1st incompletion let alone interception. For that reason it's safer to just start fresh with all new QB's...
You are correct. If Griffin doesn't start day one, things will get ugly quickly.

But I think that Matty is right that Griffin starts day one.

All this Griffin talk makes me want to just hurry up and get a trade done. All this talk of the Browns and Rams talking is making me nervous, especially since we appear to be out of the Peyton talk.

But as far as the point goes, I agree with Matty. I think RG3 is bright and talented enough that he would be able to start from day one. I don't think he can learn the full playbook by the first game, but he should be able to learn enough to start and play the first game.

1) I agree. I will rest more soundly the night that the trade is announced.

2) I think you are right. So hopefully Kyle doesn't try to install everything and instead gives Griffin bite-sized pieces of the playbook over time.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)

That waiter deserved to be fired. Peyton is a private citizen like the rest of us, no matter how much he makes. No one needs to know how much he spends, tips or see the receipts from his purchases. That waiter could be probably prosecuted on top of the firing if Peyton really wanted to, he's opening Manning up to identity theft if anyone would be stupid enough to try it with someone so-well known.

If the customer was an elected official and taxpayers were paying for the deal, we may have different story, but Peyton makes his own money.

In order for that to happen, the trade needs to happen. I'm gonna be so blown if we spend all this time dreaming about Rob Griff Trey in a Redskins uniform and the fantastically awesome plays he could be making and it turns out the Browns trade up for him instead.

Once the trade happens, I will feel secure and confident about the future of the franchise.

I agree. I would be shocked if RGIII werent out-performing Rex in every way by a wide margin by the end of the pre-season.

I looked at the menu and their prices were not sky high. I say Ruth Chris or The Palm is more then that place. He most have had a bunch of folks in his party.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)

Finance guy/nerd checking in:

Notice he left $200 on top of the 18% included tip. Total tip was $312.82 on a $626.76 bill, a 50% tip!

That waiter should have just pocketed the autograph (or asked for it after the paperwork was done) and went home with a great memory, cash in his pocket and a job the next day.

Moron.
