Re: MLB thread
The talent the Nats have traded away the last couple years is truly amazing. Maybe it works out for them, but as a fan I'd be really sick watching studs like Turner, Harper, and Soto tearing it up for other teams.

It sucks being in this position but I think the Corbin/Strasburg deals have really screwed us. And guessing the new owner/s want a clean slate - they don't wanna be the bad guys to let Soto walk. Good riddance to the Lerners. S/N - this article by Bos is a good read. I ain't gonna be spending any money going to games any time soon but hopefully brighter days are ahead.

Re: MLB thread
Shohei Ohtani is the greatest baseball player of all time. Possibly the greatest athlete. Imagine his numbers if he was only pitching or hitting and could dedicate 100 percent of his time towards it. Stuck on a shit team or his stats would be more amazing. 28 years old too.

Re: MLB thread
The Mets got in our ass this past weekend.
Great bounce back short-series against the Red Sox. Mini-sweep. And we brought up another rookie, who immediately proceeded to crank one out of the stadium. Looking like Braves will have to go the long way through the WC. But just get to the dance.

Mets only 5 games behind the Dodgers for best overall record. The Dodgers are just going to be good forever.

Cashman is way past his prime and Boone never had a prime. The team is built to beat up on most teams and lose to the good ones. I will say that since Stanton has been hurt our lineup has been hurt. We need him and Sevy back healthy to have any chance to win it. |

Re: MLB thread
They have been sucking since the trades went down. Love getting Benintendi and Effross. Hated the Montgomery trade. Horrible so far. Know Bader brings value, but he's currently hurt and good starting lefty pitchers don't grow on trees. They really do have issues currently. Shutout the last 2 games. Ugh. Rant over lol.

Re: MLB thread
Braves did what they absolutely had to do the 1st 2 games.
With Scherzer and deGrom next, gonna be tough to get 1 more win, let alone 2. Need to get at least 1 more to have decent odds to possibly win the division. Man, if Scherzer and deGrom are healthy come playoff time, good luck trying to win that series.

Re: MLB thread
Mets are getting bit hard by the injury bug right now. If they can manage a split with this Braves series it would be a big win.

Re: MLB thread
Braves are surging. Getting Ian Anderson out the rotation key.
And guess who coming https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/m...e-rehab-start/ Mike Soroka injury update: Braves righty strikes out eight in first minor-league rehab start Soroka, the 2019 NL Rookie of the Year runner-up to Pete Alonso, threw 174 2/3 innings with a 2.68 ERA that season. That was the year MLB set all sorts of home run records and Soroka, with his heavy sinker, led qualified pitchers with a 0.72 HR/9. He has a career 2.86 ERA in 37 starts and 214 innings spanning 2018-20.

Re: MLB thread
Odorizzi vs. Scherzer went exactly as expected. Game was already over after 1.5 innings.

Re: MLB thread
deGrom is otherworldly good.
It's fucking nuts. It's an accomplishment just to not strike out.
