Colts-Redskins Postgame Thread

Feel free to cry to our heart's content in here gents.

Positives:

We are 1/8th of the way through the season.

We've seen this team at peak performance, and now we've seen this team at what I hope is its' worst performance.

Defense did aiight I guess, certainly they played decent enough to win.

Negatives (oh boy where to start lol)

Offensive line: For a supposed best unit in the NFL, they couldn't run block worth a shit today, and they didn't look great pass blocking either.

Receivers: I'll put partial blame on the o-line but you gotta give some blame to the receivers for not getting open today. Also shouts out J.Doct, I still remain one of your few loyal supporters and that dropped pass (if it touches your hands, it's a catchable ball imo) in the first quarter really set the tone for our ineptitude.

Alex Smith: Conservative passes/no interceptions are fine when you can score points. Let's just be honest, philosophy wise Smith and Cousins are not the same.

Run game in general: Let me throw some shade at the coaches too, it felt like we were never committed to the run at any point today. Leading rusher J. Crowder? LOL.

Coaching: From the start we didn't look prepared, and they did. Jay Grudes thats on you.

TL;DR: It's mostly on the offense today, but now we see what a conservative passing game looks like without run support. It's the kind of soul-crushing we-don't-have-a-chance offense that gives you no hope to win a game.

I still believe we lie somewhere between not-as-good as last week and not-as-bad as this week, but now we know there's more work to be done.

What a difference a week makes.

Same old skins, look good one week and shit the next. Defense played well enough to win, offense blows. Sign Dez please, these other guys suck. I knew PRich wasn't gonna do shit.

I wouldn't touch Dez with a ten foot pole. The last big name Cowboy loudmouth took Dan to the cleaners for only 2-3 INTS to his name while he was here. I still remember Johnny Morton burning Deion all game long in the Sliverdome in '99 or '00. If Dez was worth a nickel, he would have been picked up by now. Skins need to get some young studs in here and start fresh. Doctson needs to go once his contract is up. He is just Taylor Jacobs 2.0.

Defense played well but they put us behind the 8-ball to start the game then when we needed a stop the most after getting within 14-9 we let them go right down the field for another score.

On offense, too many cutsie plays and bad offensive line play.

In all 3 facets, we let a bad team come into our stadium and physically manhandle us for all 60 minutes. That's the saddest part.

Gruden and Manusky just don't instill any confidence in me. I assume we'll look like shit every week. Pleasantly surprised last week but right back to normal this week.

Gruden just doesn't look the part of a HC. We are only going to get subpar candidates for the HC position as long as the current owner and his minions are in charge. Not necessarily bad coaches, but just not ready for the big step up to be a HC

The Colts are not a bad team. They have played 1 bad quarter this year against what looks to be a pretty good Bengals team, otherwise they would be 2-0.

Terrible game really by the Skins, but no need to hit the panic button yet IMO.

Especially since everyone in the NFC East is going to be 1-1 after tonight.

Oops, you are correct, three teams will be 1-1, one will be 0-2.

Positive: everyone in the NFC East will be 1-1 after tonight (unless we're lucky and the Gmen and Cowpukes manage to tie).

After 50 years the sellout streak is over. TBH I'm surprised it took this long. If you can't fill the stadium on your home opener a week after a dominating win, it obviously speaks to the long-term decline of the team.

Credit to u/TheFart_ of Reddit for this shot. Embarrassing, but par for the course when you lead the league in highest average cost of attending a game.

Good, I hope it continues as the season progresses if they continue to lose. When Detroit fans weren't going to give up their hard earned $$$$$$$ for crap football, the ownership responded. Billy got dethroned and Mama Ford took over. Things are only a bit better, but at least it showed that fans can get the owners to at least attempt to bring a winner in Detroit. Not too sure what Skins fans were thinking by awarding Dan for bringing them crappy football all of these years. Only real contender he had, was the '99 team that he inherited from Cook. It is good that the fans know they have options for good football via NCAA football. The Hokies look strong.

Thank you,I was about to post on it myself,I go back to the[Lombardi]era and don't recall EVER seeing the stadium that empty especially after a win and the crowd didn't seem to be much into the game either,Snyder better do something because the fanbase is sending him a message and he better read the handwriting on the wall.

This organization or any organization is crazy to build a stadium larger than 60K. I don't see Millennials as interested in spending an entire Sunday sitting in a stadium watching a game no matter how many party pavilions and big screens are available.
