Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread

No way Romo plays and is effective. If he plays, great! He get even more hurt and won't help his team. If he has any sense he'll sit and let Kitna get molested by our blitz.

This is a game primed for excuse-athon from the Cowboy fans as 'Yeah, but Romo, Jones, etc weren't playing'. A win is a win but I'll be happier when we can beat them when they are 100%.

Skins will win and we get to see another cameo of a Boys fan with her hands on her head looking like the world just ended. Remember '05? Madden commentating said something like "Parcells is 73-0 when leading by 13 points or more in the 4th quarter". Two long bombs and a few brutal Sean Taylor hits later and we win! That's my favorite Skins game ever right there.

Carlos also had an INT hit him right in the head and he was looking right at it, he could have had a pick six! lmao some things never change.

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread

regarding 2005's Monday Night Miracle:

I had my brother who's a cowboys fan, my cousin who is the reason my brothers a cowboys fan and my other cousin who is also a cowboys fan over to watch that game.

At some point they were pretty confident it was over and they started to poke fun, talking about their dominance in the series, etc.

The second ST laid on that brutal hit, I tell you I stuck up both middle fingers in each of their faces, and ran up the stairs and by the end of it I dont think there was a single inch of the house that I didnt cover. I'll never forget it.

And yet, the Skins are 6.5 point dogs ...

You might want to re-word that...

Yeah, I think we should go there.....

I was in a bar in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County (I tell you this because it's near the old Cowboys training camp in Oxnard) and the bar was lousy with Boys fans. They kept coming by, slapping me on the back, telling me my team sucked and so forth. By the time the ball was in the air for the second TD the weasles had all either left or taken their jerseys off.

Possibly why I enjoy that game the most, after all the abuse that was the sweetest 00:00 ever.

Reports on ESPN right now that Romo not only broke a rib, but punctured his lung, too. And yet he came back in and led them to an OT victory to avoid an 0-2 start. I don't like Tony Romo or the Cowboys, but I respect him a lot more because of this.

HOLY CRAP.....

NFL.com news: Cowboys QB Romo has punctured lung; status 'up in the air'

Quote:
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has a punctured lung, NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reported Monday, citing a league source.
It's not "just" a broken rib, it's a punctured lung due to said broken rib. He definitly will not be playing on Sun. Probably not for a few weeks.

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread

As much as I hate to say it Romo deserves a lot more respect for playing through Sunday's game with a punctured lung. That's a gutsy performance. It also probably means we'll be playing against Kitna on Monday night.

I wouldn't say that. He came back and played after it happened on Sunday. They've got an extra day to let him rest up since we play on MNF, plus Garrett said he expects him to play.

"He" said that, or has the coaching staff said that? Let's not forget Kitna lit us up last time for 3 TDs, though it looks like Austin has a hamstring problem. Let's hope it's as bad as Landry's has been.

Could be a ploy by Garrett to make us prepare for Romo. If Romo plays on Monday night, it'll definitely be a gutsy call for him, but a punctured lung? I'm not sure how much that hurts or whether he'll be able to play with it, but it definitely sounds serious.

Let's keep karma on our side and not hope than anyone has a bad injury.

Having worked in the medical field for 14 yrs, I'm telling had the team or doctors knew he had a punctured lung they would not have let him back out on the field. Broken rib is one thing.... tape it up, put on a padded vest and play, punctured lung is a totally different story. They definitly won't want the puncture to get bigger or worse. He takes another hit in the same spot making it bigger and it could be his life, especially if his lung collapses due to the punctured lung.
