Re: Draft wrap-up 2013
^Thanks Dirtbag59.^
I gave this draft a B, but I didn't see Phillip Thomas's name, or I would have given it an A. Two great ballhawking DBs, a good pass rusher, another good target for RG3, yeeeesssss! |

LT: T. Williams - T. Compton LG: Kory L. - M. Hurt C: W. Montgomery - J. LeRibeus RG: C. Chester - A. Gettis RT: T. Polumbus - J. Trueblood - T. Pashos Also keep in mind we just signed OT Xavier Nixon out of Florida as an UDFA. Nixon graded out as a 4th round prospect for Scouts Inc. My only real worry with the current offensive line is what we would do if Trent went down. Virtually every position has a solid starter and depth. However in regards to LT I feel like we have no real backups. Hopefully Compton develops this offseason and/or Nixon shows potential.

Outside of Morris, what did our DBs produce last year?

Re: Draft wrap-up 2013
I give us a C+.
Three picks in the secondary should result in at least one starter. Effort was made to fix our greatest weakness. Good stuff. Really liked the Reed-Thompson picks. If just one of those pans out, then we have either our own Hernandez or our own Sproles. Good stuff. Jenkins I really didn't get. I don't see any playing time for him other than as a situational pass rusher at best or special teams. I don't see what Jamison brings to the table that we don't already have in Alfmo.

Re: Draft wrap-up 2013
With Morris and Griffin getting most of them. I will never doubt Shanny taking RB. We had no backup RB last year, this means Helu and Royster need to step up. We signed FA OL this offseason and drafted 3 OL last year, i am happy with the draft. We drafted secondary which was needed, a TE which was a need to IMO with Davis on one year deal and Paul with horrible hands.

Re: Draft wrap-up 2013
I graded it as a B.. I think we got 2 starters and 2 more 2013 contributors from the draft. Amerson and Thomas likely will be starting by October if not sooner. While neither is the perfect product, they can't be any worse than what we trotted out there last fall. Reed and Thompson bring a dynamic element to the offense that it lacked last season. We needed speed and big play ability and we got it in those two. Kyle can throw so many packages at a defense it will have their heads spinning.
The rest of the picks are good, let them develop and play on teams. Rambo is intriguing, if Jenkins gets onto the field in any sub packages it's a bonus. Perhaps the best part of the draft for me was us going into the draft not needing a 'difference maker' to build around. In '10 we NEEDED Trent. In '11 we needed a compliment to Rak. In '12 we had to get a QB. This year we were able to let the draft come to us a little bit and not reach for people. Especially in this middle heavy draft, I think we did pretty good. Oh and for that #1 pick we traded away, I still think RG3 will be better than anyone else drafted Thursday night, regardless of position. We still won that trade!

I think the Skins threw a wrench in the NFL draft gears when they selected Reed. He looks longer than he's listed too. |

Re: Draft wrap-up 2013
i don't doubt shanny's rbs, i just doubt that we needed to draft 2.
i gave it a c grade, acceptable. factor in the 1st round to rams for griff, bump that up to b grade.

Re: Draft wrap-up 2013
I gave it a B. Lots of great skill position picks, but I'd like too have seen at least one or two linemen.
