There is still a month left before GM1, plenty of time to bring in a guy and get him ready. It’s on Jay if we are near the bottom in rushing again.

We have to run the ball better this year to win. Bottomline

Jay should reach out to Mike Shanahan and ask for advice.

In all seriousness, why wouldn't he, they could always run the ball.

OK, I read what Jay said and I don't believe him. That has got to be coachspeak, right? Right?

My fantasy football team name will be “Guice that knee.” So bummed.

Re: Guice out for season

I've only read a handful of the posts in this thread, so I'll probably be rehashing something a few others may have said.

I would go attempt to get the Falcons to trade Tevin Coleman to us. It would only likely cost us a 6th round pick per conditions. If Coleman was to rush for 1,100 yards and 7 or 8 TD's, then it would end up costing us a 4th rounder. IMO, it'd be well, worth it if that were to play out.

Coleman is starter material, and the Falcons likely won't be able to retain him after this season (he'll be a UFA after the season).

If not Coleman, then I would try to coax DeMarco Murray out of retirement. Frankly, I don't think it'll take much to persuade him.

Re: Guice out for season

If we try to trade, which I hope our FO is at least seriously considering, here are a few names I don't think I've seen mentioned here:

-Latavius Murray, he had some good seasons in Oakland, the Vikings have Cook, wouldn't cost that much and he'd still be a nice addition.

-Mark Ingram, solid veteran, really good one year solution. The Saints have Kamara and could be willing to negotiate. He's entering his contract year.

-Deion Lewis. His name came up a lot when he was a free agent, and the Titans might be willing to give Henry a bigger role, would probably cost us a bit more.

Not saying these are the best we can do, but they're options.

These are not options...neither going anywhere.

Mark Ingram is very interesting. He is a good player who will be suspended the first 4 weeks....to me, we could get him in here and up to speed to be unleashed the last 3 quarters of the season. I would trade for him.

Plus...depending how he plays, I would be up for re-signing him. Thompson, Ingram, Guice would be a near perfect RB core.

You think they're not options meaning they wouldn't be upgrades or just they're not available to trade?

yeah, they will not be available. Ingram is the only one who could become available...still not a strong chance.

OK then we agree. I think they'd be nice additions, and thought, though it's unlikely, they could be available since their teams have others quality RBs.
Coleman would sure be a solid option.

Re: Guice out for season

I feel the same fellas, feels like a punch to the gut every time I hear about it. He was going to ball this year. Redskins fans all over are depressed, Had a Goat in the making at S and he was murdered, Savior of the franchise tears his knee and never plays the same again, finally have a franchise QB that is a legit starter and he doesn't want to play here, draft an electric RB that is desperately needed for years now and he goes down PS week 1. It's hard to even imagine that shit all being true.
