Too bad we didn't get to see what Marty could have done here.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread

Jay Gruden 1 hour one on one w/ Sheehan is a must listen IMO

Some key insights and confirmations of how dysfunctional this organisation was...

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread

The explanation about Kirk kneeling instead of spiking is sad AF. Basically Jay wanted to throw a back shoulder fade to PG but Garçon hated that throw so he said "I ain't running it" in the huddle, and DeSean wanted them to kick the FG, so Kirk panicked and took a knee...

Wow. I love PG but that is just a sad statement on many levels.

If that's actually true, he should have been cut from the team after the game. That's horseshit and he was my favorite player while he was here.

Clearly Gruden had no respect from many of the players in terms of being HC. I can't imagine a player refusing a play call in that situation.

You guys should listen to the pod... Jay said he loved Pierre and DeSean's talent and Pierre was one of the most consistently hard working players he ever met... but they were pains in the ass to Kirk and always jealous of whoever was getting the ball and never wanted to run block and all... said they deserved a podcast episode by themselves...

I tried listening to the pod but Jay's voice isn't clear on the phone, I had a hard time following what he was saying sometimes. Hopefully waiting for a writer to listen to it and type up an article about it.

Sad to hear about PG/DS/KC though. These are the stories I'd like to hear more of.

Might depend on what you listen to it on, I didn't have any issue.

Yeah it's a rare situation to have the former HC of your team speak so freely... He seemed to have accepted he's not getting another HC job and want to try and get an announcer gig.

Yup. And we got TORCHED in the secondary all year long. I don't like Darby, he looks good on paper but gets beat way too much. I like Fuller in slot, but we need 2 starting CBs and a safety, and have no one special anywhere at LB.

If McL or Thomas goes down, we have NOTHING behind them. Best case scenario is one of the 27 underachieving WRs on roster becomes a #2, but we can't count on that. I also saw our OL getting blown up by pass rushers all year, including Scherff.

We beat ONE winning team all year. ONE.

He needs to be aware of the fact that he is not going to get a starting job ANYWHERE in the NFL now, so if he wants to come back to WFT it would have to be as a mentor/coach/backup on a substantially lower salary. If we trade for a veteran, even Mariota , he will be out of here.
