Re: New Walters column 4/7/05
I searched all over for a reply forum for the T. Walters article, so as not to create a new one!
I thought Walters did a good job, but I would have preferred more than two possible names at each position he felt was a need. What no one realizes is there are nearly as many gems to be mined in the post-draft FA frenzy immediately following the last pick of the draft. That is where we picked up a couple of good ones. I don't think we will ever forget that A. Pierce was a FA pick-up! And those we picked up last year: Ryan Boschetti, DL, UCLA Jonathan Brewer, WR, Howard Rufus Brown, CB, Florida State Quinn Christensen, OL, BYU Norman Heuer, DL, Michigan William Strother, LB, New Mexico John Standeford, WR, Purdue Garnell Wilds, CB, Virginia Tech Jafar Williams, WR, Maryland Dennard Wilson, S, Maryland You might recognize three or four! Last year's ST player, and part time fill-in might turn out to be a full time starter in a few years, just like Pierce!
