What do people say about this graphic:

To me, our defense would be so much better with a new DC, that we should be looking at OT or QB not Young regardless of his projected talent.

If this year were a vacuum, yeah. But Kerrigan is 31 and I promise our sack rate won't stay in this high position if we don't replace him with a strong rusher sometime soon.

He's got probably two good years left, even giving him the benefit of the doubt on this year's performance. I wouldn't pass up Chase Young under the guise that we're set at pass rusher for the foreseeable future.

Re: What do you want to see the rest of the Year?

That said I think it's easier to get a strong pass rusher than it is to get a LT like Andrew Thomas. We might not get a Chase Young with our 2021 first rounder, but Kerrigan was a mid-first rounder, Sweat dropped down to the bottom. You can get edge rushers, not that it's easy or that any of them will be as good as Chase Young.

But I can't think of as many examples of stud LTs being plucked from back end of round 1. It's a scarcity issue and a huge need for us.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but resigning Flowers should be a huge priority. He has solidified the LG spot in a badly needed way.

+1 on the LT also being a priority too. Penn is solid but I saw a couple plays where he got beaten easily back there. Haskins being slow with his progressions doesn't help either.

Re: What do you want to see the rest of the Year?

After hearing all the talk of how Haskins is a cant miss and steal of the draft you will have to excuse me for not buying into the hype if ANY college kid coming into the NFL .. The list is long of the players who were gonna dominate at the next level.. Iím for trading down and getting more and more picks ... look at Scary Terry was a he a first round? In fact we gave a lot of our better players who were not top picks..

Yep ..Pretty sure I read it here ! In fact just went back and read the thread on the draft and other than a very few folks everybody including me thought it was a great pick...some even said we got the BEST QB in the draft and then the so called experts said we had one of the best drafts.. all Iím saying is Iím not buying into any player being the canít miss pick. Donít take my word go read all the hype that was being said ..then the same people later on including me are saying he could be a bust.. I hope the kid works out but Iím not convinced now..

No in fact most of us were wanting Murray but when we all realized AZ was taking him, I wanted Rosen as plan B.. So Haskins was a nice pick considering we had no other options at QB

That sack rate is mainly do to interior pressure to be honest, Matt I. , Payne and Allen have been very good. The edge guys have sucked

Whether anybody said Haskins was a can't miss is irrelevant. The point on QBs is that until you have one, you don't have a chance. So do you think we have one? That's the thinking you have to go through.

If you think Haskins might be a bust, and you have a shot at the next QB, the upside is so significant that it has to garner consideration.

That all said, your point about trading down is a good one. If you can land a deal that hauls you a bunch of picks, that might be preferable, even to taking Joe Burrow (maybe). It takes two to tango, though.

Re: What do you want to see the rest of the Year?

Although every draft pick is a gamble, most of the best players ARE picked in the first round. The fact that we got McLaurin in the third round is an anomaly. This teams needs a couple real stars. Right now who is a superstar on this team? McLaurin? Who on defense? If you have a chance to draft a superstar - you take it and watch as your new star carries the defense or offense for a decade or more.

If you look at the Redskins over the last 20 years, who has been a real star in key positions? Sean Taylor? Who else? We donít need a bunch of position fillers. We need someone who transforms the team. If you have a chance to draft Chase Young - you take it and run! If you can draft an Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning, etc you take it and youíll be a contender for the next 15 years.

I donít know if Haskins is the future. Itís IMPOSSIBLE to determine right now. The new HC will have the most important choice of his tenure with this first round draft pick. Itís HARD to fail so badly to get a top 3 or top 5 draft pick. Youíve GOT to make that pick count. If youíre going to draft for QB then that must be for a franchise changer. I think itís TUA. To my mind this draft pick is either Tua, Young or Thomas. These are the only players who make a difference AND are decade-long players. Obviously, Tuaís injury is a big concern. But until his injury he was EVERYONEís #1 pick. Do we take him now? Stay tuned.
