Re: 2nd rd pick Ryan Anderson

With the way he plays, his old school demeanor, he could be Charles Haley like.

Clearly loves contact. Mr. Anderson, please introduce yourself to Messrs. Manning, Prescott, and Wentz.

Re: 2nd rd pick Ryan Anderson

Saban saw Anderson as in ILB in the NFL:

Alabama Crimson Tide Football LB Ryan Anderson using advice from cousin, Nick Saban at Senior Bowl

I like this pick more and more. Anderson, like Allen, is a versatile players. Which means, they can stay on the field in most situations and allow more situational players an opportunity to be on the field with them. Also, it may mean that as other players step up, or under perform, or get injured, they can be shifted around. ILB that can help rush the QB, is a ball magnet, and has some quickness and coverage ability may prove to be the greater need for us than edge rusher, and then again, it may not. It's just good to have an immediate impact player that may be starting caliber at either. That said, he hasn't played ILB, so maybe he can't or will need time to adjust, but he seems like a guy who will do whatever it takes to help the team win.

Edit: Alabama's sack total was surprising to even Tide players | AL.com

I can't wait for these guys to reacquaint themselves with Mr. Prescott.

saw almost every game he played at alabama, allen too.i saw him get knocked down several times and get up and run 25 yards downfield to make the tackle.also saw a qb or rb get away from allen, and foster or anderson always caught them.i think the skins d is gonna be greatly improved for the next 5 seasons at least.

I think only first round picks get 5 year contracts

Re: 2nd rd pick Ryan Anderson

Good with his hands, very strong, very physical.

Not going to beat you off the edge with a quick first step though, that's not his game. He's a power rusher. Still, we should enjoy having somebody who plays this nasty.

Our only speed rusher on the defense is still Junior Gallette. We'll see if he's got anything to give.

I love this guy already. Exactly the kind of demeanor we need on defense. He's a leader and he'll set the tone. To think we got Ryan Anderson AND Jonathan Allen in this draft is mind blowing!
