I don't see a potential franchise QB in this year's class, so I wouldn't move up for a QB. If I were drafting for the Giants, I would definitely try to get a great deal in exchange for the second pick in the draft.

Brady, Rodgers,Rothelisberger, Brees, Cousins were not top 15 picks. And how did the Redskins do last time they traded up for the #2 pick ?

10 first round picks, plus Kerrigan, T.Will, and the Scheriff.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0

Last thread got closed, but I'm adamant about this, Trent Williams is the best player on this team and its not even close. He's a top 10-20 player in the NFL. He is an absolute beast.

Brady went in round 6,Roethlisbeger was 11th pick over all in 2004,Arron Rodgers was the 24th pick in 2005 (Jason Campbell Redskins 25th that year) and Drew Brees was the 1st pick by the Chargers..........in the second round in 2001.

I agree about this years draft class .I believe the Giants should trade the pick for multiple picks. They have so many problems and I still believe their young QB Webb is pretty good.I was just wondering what a #2 pick would bring if offered out there. The Giants would never deal inside the NFC East with something like that .

Maybe, but Kirk plays the most important position. That's why QBs get top dollar.

It truly boggles my mind some people will be happy when Kirk leaves. I really believe those people are still so upset Kirk turned out to be the 1st round pick not RG3 they can’t see the forest through the trees.

We would know week 1 the season was over. Maybe we would go 0-16 and have the first pick to draft a QB, but we all know Bruce and Dan would screw that up.

While the FO is F-ed up they aren't that stupid. They know there is no way the fan base will accept Colt as the starter. This team is hemorrhaging fans and a move like this will increase the bleeding.

I agree plus there is this............

Since 1999 only two quarterbacks drafted top 10 overall have won a super bowl.

The Manning brothers.

Roethlisberger was drafted 11th, convenient spot to cut it off. I'm from the hood stupid what type of facts are those.

Exclusive rights franchise and trade. Most of you are snippy and presumptuous... however, you don't understand how the franchise tag works, nor free agency for that matter.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0

Just to repeat what's been said over and over and over again...

...Cousins is VERY good to great sometimes. He might not take the team on his back that often, but he's the best we've had in YEARS. I'm at the point I don't mind totally breaking the bank on him with the Flacco treatment. If we draft better, the cap shouldn't be a giant issue moving forward. If we keep holding out hope that we're going to get the next elite QB, we're going to be waiting a long ass time.

I can count on one hand how many truly elite QBs are in the league and how long did those respective franchises wait to get them? Maybe as long as we have in waiting for Kirk.

Lmao you really think ppl are still salty about that? - -I can't say i will be "happy" when kirk leaves - but i wil be glad in the way that hey if thats his choice then we will save a lot of cap space. I'm so up in the air tho I have supported kirk very much until starting to waiver after the week 17 giants game... and then this season which while hard to judge, was still a season. Its a tough situation and i hope w.ever happens is for the best for the franchise.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0

And we shouldn't stop drafting QBs, even if we sign Kirk. The Seahawks handed Matt Flynn a big contract, and then months later drafted Russell Wilson in the 3rd round. Rest is history.

You can sign him but don't be afraid to draft competition for him in the middle rounds if you see something you like. The upside of landing that next Russell Wilson is too great, no matter how much you've paid Cousins.
