I would go as far to say that Payne and Allen are being used the wrong way. Allen isn't a 3-4 DE. That is not his best position at all and it's stupid to ever put him at the position. He should be a 4-3 one gap attacking DT. Also Payne should never be used as a 3-4 NT. He's not a Casey Hampton type that is suppose to take on a center and a guard and eat up blocks. Both of those guys should be in positions to attack more and be disruptive. Holcomb should be a sideline to sideline MLB so he is able to use his speed more.

Cooley has mentioned this multiple times this season...the current front seven base should operate as a 4-3. Ryan Anderson and Allen would benefit the most from this look...Anderson is prototypical OLB in that set.

Any play, even one, where those dudes aren't one gapping is a waste of talent.

Any play where Kerrigan or Sweat is covering anybody is a waste. So stupid.

Fixed it for you. (Not a shot at them, I just think it's absurd to ask them to).

I’m praying for a switch to the 4-3 so in 5 years or so we can hear about how we need to switch back to a 3-4

This is the deference between Khalil Mack and Ryan Kerrigan or Julio Jones and Josh Doctson.
It's Young/Jeudy or bust.
This and this only. If we end up getting Young and he becomes Khalil Mack like, no one...NO ONE will be going, yeah he's great and all...but I still wish we'd have beaten the Giants in week 16 back in 2019!! However...we are the Redskins, so even we do get him, he'll probably be the next Preston Smith here...or often injured.

the right coach with the right scheme will run a lot of different formations and packages but would also use the players to the best of their potential .... so we'd see both but with the correct people in the right places at the right times

What a mixed emorions game. The offense clicked last week and I don't want to see a regression against a horrible Giants defense, so I want us to score a ton, but i want Manusky gone, so we need to give up a ton, preferably to Barkely on sceeen passes, not runs up the middle.

I think the Eagles game was best case scenario. Game was entertaining, competitive and even though the eagles won .. their fans couldnt feel good about their team going forward.

Well the problem is a competitive game against the Giants in their current state is a step back from competitive games against the packers and eagles. Thats why i want to see our offense light up their defense and their offense light up our defense

You're always so dismissive of this discussion.

Is the roster better suited for a 3-4?

Re: Giants Pregame Thread

The Eagles fans were shitting themselves until the last few minutes. There were a lot of positive parts of the offense and defense.

If the team was properly coached in the defense, especially and the offense - this team would IMMEDIATELY improve quite a lot A new GM will eliminate all the hurt and worthless FA (like Norman), which will free up a lot cap room. Some new FA, like at TE, will help the team quite a bit, but the primary emphasis must be on bringing up another excellent class of rookies, like this year.

The most important change is firing BA and bringing in elite NFL coaches and a knowledgeable GM.
