WFT's Off-Season Thread

This is huge, Rivera has flipped the program in 1 year:

Morgan Moses: "I'm just happy to be a part of this team and be a part of this culture."

When asked if he's felt like this before, he said, "it's been a long time."

Next year is gonna be fun.

My off-season dream:

Re-Sign Scherff
Sign Allen Robinson or Kenny Golladay or Chris Godwin

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread

I’d sign those guys but we also need:

QB
TE2
WR
OL depth

CB
OLB

But overall we are very close

Ron Rivera says he will meet with owner Dan Snyder tonight or tomorrow and he will inform him of his intent on the QB situation moving forward.

Sounds like the coaching staff is safe. Reportedly no major changes.

I'm good with that. It was Turner's 1st year as an OC, there was not a normal offseason, and our QB situation was anything besides stable. He deserves at least 1 more year as OC imo.

I should have added 1 more to dream list: Promote Kyle Smith to GM.

Not to mention only one NFL quality receiver, only one real Tight end...not sure where some people’s expectations of a top 10 or so offense came from. We are very talent deficient there and with a revolving door at QB on top of that, it’s almost impossible to be consistent, let alone really good.

Yup. And we got TORCHED in the secondary all year long. I don't like Darby, he looks good on paper but gets beat way too much. I like Fuller in slot, but we need 2 starting CBs and a safety, and have no one special anywhere at LB.

If McL or Thomas goes down, we have NOTHING behind them. Best case scenario is one of the 27 underachieving WRs on roster becomes a #2, but we can't count on that. I also saw our OL getting blown up by pass rushers all year, including Scherff.

We beat ONE winning team all year. ONE.

Ron will knock on Danny's door, and enter to find him in full on Deshaun Watson gear.

When can contract negotiations begin with Scherff?

I have a feeling Ron is going to be very active with the QB market

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread

My top choices for Vets

Stafford - Huge upgrade and very underrated QB
Ryan - all the dude has done is be a damn good QB his entire career, still has a couple years left
Dak - not happening but would do it
Watson - same as Dak

For rookies

Zach Wilson
Trey Lance
Mac Jones

Usually I’m all for drafting a QB but I just think this team needs a veteran leader at that position and Stafford could give you 3-4 years. The main concern with him is health but he’s one tough SOB.

Keep Allen and Heineke around to compete

Any other options you guys have in mind?

Trade for Stafford and sign Golladay. I'd put us in the top 8 or so in pre-season power rankings asap, without any other moves/picks we made.

Stafford is my non-drafted dream scenario.

Watson would be above him, but that's just not realistic at this time imo.

I just wonder if Detroit is really wanting to let him go. Haven’t heard on that

If I had to bet, it's one of those rumors that catches fire, and is probably not likely.

But they are far away from competing and they just fired their HC and GM. And Stafford is on the backside of his career (backside for QBs nowadays is now a long enough window to keep playing well for a few years). So maybe theirs a chance worth discussing.
