Regardless, I think we're making another move very soon. At least Danny and Vinny keep it interesting.
I say get this guy even if it costs a 2nd rounder (next years)

Harvey Dahl: Falcons have placed a second-round tender on this restricted free agent guard/tackle, but he could be worth it. He is a big, nasty player who was very responsible for Michael Turner's big season.

Harvey Dahl

I agree that signing Housh would be a bad move. But I can't really hate on the FO if they make a trade for Boldin. Dude is legit.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

We desperately need a DE, LB, and a yound O-Lineman. I don't think we are filling all of those voids this offseason. We still need more quality depth on the O-line. As of now, Kendall isn't signed and I don't think they do that with Dockery back on board. We also need a good damn kicker! This will all mean nothing if the offense is still sputtering.

So how much money did we actually save in the cap?

Re: Jason Taylor Released

The key in this is to find out how much cap space we have now and how many moves we will be able to make.

This cut could mean 1,2 or 3 more FA signings......who knows?

i agree. I cant see JT walking away from 8M dollars and he had to have been happy with the Haynesworth signing... his agent must have a better offer from another team. perhaps new england? he'd be much cheaper than Peppers.

$8.5 million.

We now have $12.3 million at our disposal.

However, we are now SUPER thin at DE. Do we sign someone, resign Taylor at a lower price, or draft a new DE?
Maybe we can develop Jackson?? He showed some pass rush ability last year in pre season so maybe he'll take a step up. I'm not saying he should be the starter but maybe bring back Evans, I guess they're bringing back Daniels and keep Jackson in the mix. That's 3 guys that can play that position. No need to bring back Taylor at 8.5 mil.

With that cap space we could make at least a couple more moves, correct Schneed?

Re: Jason Taylor Released

Resigning Evans should be a top priority.

that could be a good thing, but at this point, there arent ANY really good DE or OT prospects on the open market. There a few value LB guys out there, but no one good enough that it would require cutting Taylor. We've just created another hole to fill with one of our 4 draft picks.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

i agree 8.5 is too high to bring back Taylor. I just hope the Front Office makes 2-3 quality moves the remaining money we have under the cap.

I suggest:
1 - One Linebacker through FA
2 - One DE through the Draft
3 - One O-Lineman through FA
4 - A DAMN KICKER!

Thoughts?

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I like this move provided we GUN HARD for the top OL free agents available.

Jason Brown has already signed so we need to scoop up the residual OL talent available. We also need two DE's now that Taylor is gone. I would have said one if we didn't get rid of him.

Did the tackle from Seattle get signed already?
