Re: Sam howell takes Down Dallas postgame
What a strange game this was. Joey Slye gets an F minus. Howell showed he can play and also showed he still has plenty to learn before he earns the starting job - but he can at least compete for the job in the offseason. Ron showed he can become the first HC to lead a team to a .500 record in a 17 game season. Scott Turner still showed me nothing to get excited about. Khaleke Hudson showed he deserves more PT. I especially loved his bit about hard work being undefeated postgame.
BTW for all the shit-talking about Dak, he was 9-1 against the Commies before today. 9-2 now and a well deserved 9-2 but 9-2 nonetheless. He also had the Cowboys averaging more PPG than Mahomes or Allen since 2020. Hopefully today provided the blueprint to beat him going forward.

Even if Howell's not the guy, don't make any massive reaches (Unless one is pining to be like the Raiders).

I would draft a QB only if it’s a legit Prospect and it’s not going to cost picks.

Re: Sam Howell takes Down Dallas postgame
A mid rounder, I would not waste a pick. My gut tells me Howell is it, I haven't had this feeling in years, probably since Trent Green.

Shit talking Dak is cus the guy is a turnover machine not cus he couldn’t beat us. Dak has been awful this year. Every quarterback in the world is 9-1 against us. Lol. And Im not sending Howell to the HOF or anything but let’s remember he did what he did against a good team, with Scott Turner calling the plays, a third and fourth string RB, no TE, and no Oline! Not sure how much more you could have asked from a guy making his first start under those circumstances. Im pretty excited about this guy moving forward. Got the arm strength. Got the mobility. Everything else will come with repetition. But you cannot teach arm strength or mobility. |

Re: Sam howell takes Down Dallas postgame
I saw more potential today from Howell than last 2 seasons of this teams QB play! even when Taylor had descent stats we all knew there were a lot of very lucky completions.. The options we have right now
A. Sign another aging vet ( Fitz,Wentz,Ryan,Carr types)..,Howell backup B. Someone like Minshew,Darnold,Mayfield,Goff, jimmy G types… Howell backup C. Keep Taylor as backup and roll with Howell and draft another QB mid rnd I like B and C options .. what do you guys think ? |

My initial thought on Howell is that we found short Daniel Jones which imo is fine. You can build around that and might even make the playoffs from time to time.

Re: Sam Howell takes Down Dallas postgame
He threw that terrible pick and he was pissed and he didn’t make another mistake. We may not have been playing for anything and so there wasn’t pressure in that regard but he was certainly playing for something. That was an audition and he passed. Hopefully he won’t be playing for these loser coaches.
Oline CB ILB K New staff. Sign Payne, and get a fully healthy Chase back. Roll with Sam. Add some solid depth in FA. Draft well. There is a blueprint that is doable but Im worried about who will be calling the shots while we are taking out the trash. |

Really? Daniel Jones took alot longer than one game to look as good as Howell did. Im with you SF. Not sure what else the guy could have done with what he had to work with today. We should be absolutely elated about his performance. His ceiling is waaaay higher than a short Daniel Jones. Give him time to throw and an OC who actually belongs in the NFL and he is going to be way better than you think. |

Loved arm strength, he had an good touch on the ball, and his tucking and running but a few under thrown balls and few others into double and triple coverage, hope that is just first game jitters and not his game IQ.

Re: Sam howell takes Down Dallas postgame
Nothing is stopping me from drafting a QB this April if we like him.
I’d sit down and offer Henike a backup QB contract if Turner returns. If we move on from Turner, I wouldn’t offer Heinike anything. His value is tied to his knowledge of Turner system.
