He was awesome but it's 1 game with no film to prepare for. I'm all for having him compete tho

This is exactly where I am. I'm willing to give up a lot for the right player.
Including costs as a very important part of the equation, I think this is how I'd approach it:

1) Trade a ton for DeShaun Watson
2) Manage to acquire Dak Prescott, make him highest paid QB, trade picks if needed
[Grand Canyon]
3) Trade for Matt Stafford
4) Sign Ryan Fitzpatrick
5) Sign Matt Ryan if he becomes a free agent, not interested in trading unless it's for a day 3 pick
6) Sign Tyrod Taylor
[Grand Canyon]
7) Go into next year with the same QB room
[distance from Earth to the sun]
8) Bring back Haskins

Does this list exclude drafting a qb and only look at FA's, or you don't think we should draft one period?

I wonder if Dak wants to go back to Dallas given how shitty McCarthy has been as a HC.

Give me Fitz over Ryan all day. I wouldn’t want Eyan for a half eaten ham sandwich.

Eh, their coaching (ATL) was kinda shitty as well, I wouldn't put it all on Ryan.

Philosophically I think it would be the wrong play. The defense is ready now. Put a good QB in and we could be a top 3 or 4 team in the NFC for the next 3-5 years.

But draft a QB and miss on him, then we waste a window.

We will have a genuine super bowl window open if we can parachute a good QB in here. I wouldn't take my shot on a draft guess, I'd push my chips into the table and try to get Deshaun or Dak.

I'm just anticipating Fitzpatrick being cheaper on the cap, that tips it to him in my mind.

Also, there are between 7-8 teams, ahead of us in the first round, that need a QB. I don't see us getting a QB in the first round.

You are severely underrating Matt Ryan

Exactly. The one guy that's not a 50/50 guess is Lawrence. He's pretty assured to be good. The rest of them are a coinflip and I don't want to waste the prime of Young/Sweat/Payne/Allen on a guy who after two years we're still trying to find out if he can be the guy.

I fully expect Ron to recognize the same thing and push his chips in. I think he'll be aggressive and that's probably why he felt the need to talk to Snyder this week.

Or maybe we're telling everyone else that they're severely underrating Fitzmagic.
