The Zidane Incident
Even if you didn't watch the world cup final you probably heard or read about the soon to be "infamous headbutting." Seems to me that that Italian fella must have said something downright nasty that rewired Zidane brain. I wonder what he said?
p.s. Also notice how the Italian is pinching his nipple as they walk back. WTF?

Re: The Zidane Incident
Yeah, I'm thinking it was something about his mother, his country...or the fact that he's nearing the end of his World Cup career. One helluva head butt, though.

Re: The Zidane Incident
And it wasn't even in the other guy's head! The only time I've seen someone go down from a headbutt is when they get hit IN THE HEAD. That's insane.

Re: The Zidane Incident
you've got to remember, this guy is paid to headbutt the ball with as much force as possible. The man knows how to use his dome as a weapon.

Re: The Zidane Incident
P.S. I just read that Zidane won the fan vote for best player in the World Cup. I find that funny.

Re: The Zidane Incident
the best play of the entire world cup.... killer headbutt from straight out of nowhere... he probably lost it for his team, but whatever.

Re: The Zidane Incident
i found the pic this morning, and it's now my wallpaper (check out flickr.com and do a search on zidane headbutt). here is the Lego interpretation:
Materazzi must have said something dirty to Zizou...however, it's a dirty move to provoke such a reaction, so I don't feel bad for him. And, I don't think it cost the French as much as them subbing out Henry for Trezeguet.

Re: The Zidane Incident
materazzi (the italian) called zidane a terrorist. zidane was born in france, but his parents are algerian.

Thats what I was thinking. I know for a fact that Zidane is Muslim, so it wouldn't surprise me if something like that was said. |

Re: The Zidane Incident
WOW...soccer had an interesting moment for once!
It was the only one though...even with the little kicking contest to decide the championship. I'm glad the NFL doesn't decide the Super Bowl on a field goal kicking contest, or we'll be in trouble with John Hall. Oh well, France loses something else...the world is still normal. |
