His route running must be exceptional with all these praises he is getting. You don't expect that from rookies. But lets be honest here, all this noise is in practice. He'll probably be a practice squad player.

Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell

I was trying to decide between Hackett and Mitchell.

Hackett knows the offense and has been decently productive WHEN healthy in the past, but that's the key, he could be seen as injury-prone.

Mitchell has size and many more years left without the injury risk. He was a big playmaker in college and is impressing in camp. It appears we got great value for taking him so late in the draft. Since he's so young and has more potential than Hackett, where we know what we'll get, I chose Mitchell.

Even after Moss is gone, if our future is Thomas, Kelly and Mitchell, is a great trio who could be producing for many years.

That would be awesome, but it only depends on their productions and if our FO decides to extend/resign them..

I think that would be a big mistake. He would get picked up by another team.

I picked Marko for the poll, seems to me if he goes on the practice squad another team very well may get him. Hackett would probably be available if we ended up needing him in a bind even if we cut him.

Hagans and Eloi have to be dramatic over the next few weeks I imagine to stay on the team.

Where is last year's preseason receiving leader? Billy McMullen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So, as others have cautioned, lets keep it all in perspective.

McMullen was signed by the Seattle Seahawks on September 9, 2008. The team released wide receiver Jordan Kent to make room for McMullen on the roster. He appeared in four games for Seattle including two starts, catching seven passes for 124 yards.

On October 18, 2008, McMullen was waived/injured after the Seahawks activated linebacker Will Herring from the PUP list. He remained on injured reserve until he was released with an injury settlement on October 24.
Perspective - schmective. He had 7 catches in 4 games for 124 yds. PROBOWL. CHAMPIONSHIP. SUPERBOWL!!!

Seriously, what was his injury. I would like to see Marko take off. Moss and him clearing out for the long bomb with Kelly and Cooley in the middle, would at least be fun to see against teams with no DL. Marko could lead us All THE WAY

I'm obviously speculating but we may be able to keep Marko on the practice squad, should it come to that. We are the only folks who wanted him in the draft and we might be the only folks who want him now.

Hagens has 2 yrs in the league and to be honest I see him as another Hackett. His name excapes me, I've never heard of him before. He is 5ft 10inch's so my personal feeling is if we were to be stuck with someone 5-10 I'd rather have Eloi if he can actually catch. Only cause he's reported to have similar speed to Moss but younger which in my book speaks of Moss's future replacement. Possibly.

How sweet it would be to have 4 young WR's (Thomas, Kelly, Mitchell, and Eloi) with a mix of speed and hight to compliment Moss and ARE.

I think the Hagens bandwagon blew a gasket in Baltimore. He needs to turn into TO for the rest of the pre-season to make up for that debacle.

Hackett based on his experience.

Mitchell will be on the PS.

I hate putting a guy on the practice squad that was drafted. If he gets picked up by another team and becomes a player, it will have been a completely wasted draft pick, not that we haven't wasted picks in the past. :frusty:

Re: Clinton Portis Loves Marko Mitchell

What's the probability of a losing a 7th round WR from the PS? Probably pretty slim.
