Clutch and Execution Problems
This has probably been the thing that has bothered me the most over the past year. So many times the Redskins have had a chance to gain an advantage during games and so many times they've come up short. Today's examples were as follows.
Brandon Banks Punt Return: A block in the back against a player that had no chance of stopping Banks Brandon Banks Kick Return: Getting the Skins to the Vikings 30 yard line and coming away with only a field goal James Davis: Tripping on a play where he had what might have been the most wide opening running lane the Line has provided throughout the course of 2010. And it's not just today. The countless dropped Int's, the wide open deep passes that are either underthrown, overthrown, or flat out dropped, bobbled holds on kicks, the holding calls on pivotal plays. And of course the one that bothers me more then the rest combined, getting turnovers that lead to red zone chances and then being lucky to come away with 3 points. Maybe Zorn was right, this group of guys simply can't execute.

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
- Back to back drops by Cooley and Moss in one drive which both would have resulted in 1st downs in the 1st half
- Underthrown ball to Armstrong on the 45-yard pass play. Armstrong had beaten his guy by 10 yards, that should have been a score. - Several penalties on the Oline We make alot of stupid mistakes which we cant afford to especially when we lack this much talent and depth at multiple positions. Hopefully we continue to turn over the roster and bring in some youngs guys in the draft.

There was no way McNabb could have stepped into that pass. You really think he can throw a 60 yard pass off of his back foot?

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
It all goes back to Rabach. Why they would let him play injured against the Williams wall is beyond me.

I've said it all along, the only constant over the past 5 years of bad offensive lines is Rabach. He needs to go, he has never been the player he was with Baltimore.

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
Then it was thrown late...Armstrong had beaten him pretty early in the route

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
The problem is the same old BS we have dealt with for the last 10 years, No clutch players... Clinton Portis, Chris Cooley, Santa Moss, etc, they never step up in big games. It's always the same shit>> Dropped passes, fumbles, penalties... The loser mentality has been instilled in these guys.. MS needs to clean house, and get rid of the losers.. Please!!!! Lets start over....

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
They should have started last weeks OL with Montgomery at C and Heyer at RG, if that lineup did not work then go back to your original starters who were hurt to begin with. That just made to much sense, so they did the conservative thing.

They should have stuck wtih what worked. Why go back to something that was not working? I still do not understand and find fault with the way Shanahan and Haslett are using some the players they have on the roster. |

Davis did not trip he was tripped. You make it sound like he fell over himself but a player got a hand on his foot making a play. |

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
Well maybe it's just me but I expect a power back to be able to power through a shoe string tackle that early in the run. If that was the Redskins in that same situation on defense we would probably be looking at a long run.

You expect a lot out of 5th string players.

Re: Clutch and Execution Problems
Just because he was Thunder to Spiller's Lightning, I wouldn't really call him a power back. KW, ATV, and Sellers are all bigger and CP is the same size
