How about taking the $20 Mil and not performing up to the contract? There's got to be something written into the contract somewhere, a loophole.

You put the team first when you think about the future and the things we have to do. If you don’t practice, you don’t play and that’s putting the team first and giving us the best chance to go out and be successful. He has to understand that. Coach Shanahan is doing a good job of that. He knew what we were missing last year. He knew we missed a lot of practices. The first thing they looked at when they came here, I bet, was how many practices everyone missed. You’ve got to change something. You can’t just sit there and keep letting it happen. That’s what he’s trying to do.”

That all sounds good, but the fact remains that this team is no better than last year. Everybody always back the coach. Then why don't they go out their and lay it on the line? Shanny/AH feud has nothing to do with their inability to tackle.

Nothing against Daniel, but let's not use the AH situation as a scapegoat for yet another disasterous season.

Define performing up to the contract.

Unless there are specifics in his contract regarding performance, good luck with that.

Shanahan is coaching the players he has. Some were left overs from the past and some he brought in WITH Bruce Allen. Allen is the catalyst here. The culture of the team can be changed partially by the coach and by the GM. The coach can affect change on and off the field in terms of actual "football". The GM can contribute to that change by the type of players he brings in through free agency and the draft. I'm willing to give that process a few years. Firing AH and anyone else HAS to go through Allen. Shanahan has some say, but ultimately Bruce holds the keys.

I don't think he'll be released this season, but if we can't find a suitable trade offer this offseason I would play the cards and bet that he would want to prove his time with the Redskins is an anomaly, so he might play his heart out next season and have another great season, and if he did, than that might be a 3rd round compensation draft pick for us, which might be better than anything offered in a trade!

I bet he gets shipped back to the Titans and we take whatever they give us.

So you figured with a new coach and a new GM things would change in one year?

I think it's funny you still have Todd Collins on your avatar.

I couldn't tell you, I would imagine there has to be something written in the contract.

I switch it up pretty often, just my flavor for this week. Hey why not, he led our last playoff run with some of the better QB play we've seen in recent memory around here. Good times.

thats a pretty vauge question, but yes. things should definitly change and you should see some sort of improvement. they really made a bad call in saying they were not rebuilding imo. they should have just cut their loses at the begining of this season instead of wasting another year trying to patch somthing together. hindsight is 20-20 and all we can do now is sit back and wait, we aren't gonna be very competetive for atleast two years imo

Would it be possible to put him on IR and thus keep him from other teams but off the current roster?
