Battle of the NFC East: Tight End

It's the tight end position on trial today, as we look at the position for each NFC East team. Chris Cooley, Jason Witten, Martellus Bennett, Fred Davis, Kevin Boss, Brent Celek and all the rest. Which team and which player will come out on top?

Find out by reading Battle of the NFC East: Tight End.

I can't argue with this list. Witten and Cooley are 1 and 1a to me. Can't go wrong with either one.

Yeah. If Davis plays up to par then there's really no difference between us and the Pukes. Both would be at the top in terms of tandems.

Agreed. It's a tough call between Witten and Cooley, but at this point, I would probably put Witten on top by the slimmest of margins.

I think "if" Davis lives up to his billing. He might be considered in the top 4-5 TEs in the NFC east. Giving us a different dynamic to our offense. I think Cooley is going to have a big year. Definitely more touchdowns. I think Davis will score atleast 3 TDs himself.

Re: Battle of the NFC East: Tight End

Just a question, is it the hype that makes people put Witten as the best TE in football? I agree with the above where I think that Witten and Cooley are about identical TEs. Witten might block better but Cooley runs better after the catch.

I always get sick of hearing how he's the best TE in football without Cooley in the discussion.

That being said, Gonzo and Gates are still the top two without even mentioning Cooley or Witten.

Nobody outside of Dallas thinks Witten is the best TE in football. The best TE in football is either Antonio Gates or Tony Gonzalez. Witten has definitely been the best TE in the NFC for years, which is what I wrote. We'll see if Gonzo, now with the Falcons, can knock Witten or Cooley out of the Pro Bowl.
