Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
I am convinced if teams run four straight plays up the gut on us there is no way they don't gain ten yards.

For you Potroast fans:
As @MikeJonesWaPo tweeted, Redskins indeed have Terrance Knighton in for a visit. skins need size on DL. Helps all. Phil Taylor too, both Chris Baker's buddies

No way. Signing Doctson was a complimentary pick for D-Jax. D-Jax isn't exactly going to throw his weight around first of all. Second of all you try running wind sprints up the field over and over and see if you don't "take a play off". Every time this guy doesn't go for 100 yards and a td it is time for him to go. Wtf? |

Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
If we were in the CFL I'd say the same thing about 3 straight plays. There is absolutely no excuse for Baltimore not running the ball at least 25 times. Especially with the wind. We didn't run a lot as it wasn't working. They didn't run a lot because they just didn't want to. Their guy almost had 100 yards on 11 carries.

Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
Positives:
- ILBs !!! Mason Foster was outstanding, from a technical standpoint, he may very well be the best tackler on this team. I said last week he was the only one able tackle properly, this week he wasn't the only one anymore, very few missed tackle, but he delivers text book tackles on almost every play, just WOW. Compton had a pretty good game too. They both seemed to have fun on the field, they might be part of the reason why the Ravens didn't run the ball on us, and tried to pick on this unproven secondary. - Defensive play calling. Barry bringing a lot of pressure, with success on key plays! - O-line. - KC (a part from the INT, that could have been a killer, really good game). Negatives: -Offensive play calling. I felt this was predictable as F..k. A few 3 and 1 I think we should have run, Matt Jones was doing a pretty good job at picking up 1 or 2 yards on dead plays. With all the Ravens' mistakes, we could have killed this game, I say we didn't in major part because of bad playcalling (Not kicking that close field goal at the end of the 2nd half was plain stupid IMO).

Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
So what's the deal with the running game? I'm still worried about Jones because he has zero burst speed. You nail him at the line, he's going down like a sack of potatoes. If he gets to the second level then he'll get into gear.
I know our offensive line is bordering on average, but come on man, we had like 50 yards on hand offs yesterday. That can't be all on the o-line...? I'm also worried about his vision because I often see him run into his lineman, and I swear there was a play where there was a clear way around Silverback and Jones stopped at the line when the hole closed up and ran around the right side into the arms of like 3 Ravens linemen. Granted, I think I like shifty one cut backs rather than the bruisers we've been having... i.e. Morris, Jones

Agree with all of this. Totally forgot about going for it at the end of the half. Of course as a fan i wanted them to but in retrospect - in a game where the weather sucks and points are at a premium- should have definitely kicked it. |

Ryan Clark and Louis reddick both just said it's the eagles and cowboys in the east... Well we'll just have to show them up.

Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
Yeah, I was just watching that too. If we beat Dallas we'd be in first place, and we should've had that one. The Cowboys look good, and as much as that sucks they're good, it makes us look better. The only teams we lost to are a combined 8-2. It's OK to lose to the better teams if you can beat everyone else.
