Re: F...Ebola

Yeah, it sucks. I'm not overly concerned with it right now but I feel like some people aren't taking it seriously. The guy in Dallas died within a couple weeks of his symptoms, that's insane. I don't think people should be freaking out about it but we should all be taking basic precautions, especially when it comes to our hygiene. If this shit does break out we're just as fucked as Africa imo.

Re: F...Ebola

There is going to be a lot of unnecessary panic in the next few months. The media loves stories like this. Remember west nile was going to kill us all, or was it Swine Flu, or was in H1N1, or was it SARS, or was it measles?

In the US more people will be killed by vending machines, than by Ebola. However you can't scare the public into watching your news coverage on "Killer Vending Machines"!!!!

Re: F...Ebola

The one thing that scaries me about Ebola is my kids they are 6 and 3. Lets just say washing their hands is not a priority for them.

What is really gross/scary is my 3 year old daughter. We go to public restrooms and no matter what i do she puts her hands on the toilet seat it totally grosses me out. Then i wash her hands like she is going in to perform surgery but still it is gross/dangerous.

I'm going to remember this in two months when wrestling season starts back up and I step on the mat to referee my first match of the year. It's bad enough with all the disgusting skin conditions we have to watch out for but now I'm going to worry about this. Can't wait.

We have a double edged sword here on one hand our hospital infrastructure is vastly superior, although you couldn't tell by the handling of the situation in Dallas, but our transportation infrastructure and population density means that it could spread from one city to another much more rapidly than what we see in Africa, given the right circumstances of course.

Exactly. Notice the only people to get sick so far have been the healthcare workers who treated the guy. You have to come in contact with bodily fluids.

Since there seems to be confusion about how to contract it, here is a brief list of things you should NOT do if you might be infected with Ebola:

1. Fly on a commercial airliner
2. Go dress shopping with your bridal party
3. Go skinny dipping in a drinking water reservoir
4. Play spin the bottle
5. Take a golden shower
6. Say the words "Sufferin Succotash"
7. Play Twister in a Sauna (Europeans included)
8. Drink Castor oil before a pie eating contest

Why does anyone take this guy seriously? A Hundred senators in this country, why does the news only report on what the stupid ones say?
