Re: Redskins vs Falcons PS Week 3

Haskins should have had 2 Tds last night, both near misses but when he is in tempo the kid is special, he is poised back there and reads the D very well. Guice looks like he could be our Zeke, but lets see it in week 1 first.

Defense is very good, and will carry the team again.

Re: Redskins vs Falcons PS Week 3

Finishing up the replay. Thoughts:

1) Liked what I saw from Guice. He he is quick, strong, and fearless. Him and Peterson at rb are going to be a force.
2) Liked what I saw from Keenum. He is productive with time (big if I realize). Quick release, accurate, and cool under pressure. Scherff got blown up on that int.
3) Haskins is off on some of his passes. He must improve accuracy/footwork before starting.
3) Oline and namely pass protection could be a problem. I expect lots of running and 3 step drops.
4) Cam Sims can play. Harmon showed something also. Doctson really may out as purported. Where has he been this preseason?
5) We may have something in Casonva McKinzy. Kid can play and is making this team and really believe will contribute. He can rush the passer and moves well for his size.
6) Landon Collins looks like Landon Collins. Thrilled to have him.
7) Too many penalties. Pretty frustrating and needs to be cleaned up asap.

I would love to see this team with a good, steady, and healthy oline. I, honestly, think Keenum will be reasonably productive and is definitely worthy of starting week 1.

Reed ought to retire for his health.

That said, if he gets hurt in his first preseason game, he was going to get hurt early in the season. Now the team should and can be giving more reps and prepping without him instead of JG feeling his unhealthy obligation to play the vets.

Re: Redskins vs Falcons PS Week 3

My positive thoughts on the game:

- Landon Collins and Jon Bostic were everywhere! Very exciting to see that.
- Our D-Line is pure gold. Wow!
- I liked the way Case Keenum hit numerous receivers in stride. It's the key to yac.
- I loved Robert Davis and Troy Apke as our gunners on ST.
- What can I say about "The People's Corner"? He is a special player.
- I forbid the Redskins to cut any of these WR's: Robert Davis, Cam Simms, Kelvin Harmon, and Terry McLaurin.
- Guice is the real deal.

To Redskins decision makers:

Keep the young players and continue to build. We've got something going so don't mess it up this time.

Re: Redskins vs Falcons PS Week 3

It's easy to 2nd guess but I'm not got to kill Gruden over Reed. You have to get your starters some game work before they play a game. That was simply a dirty ass hit and that player should be suspended. I would suspect Reed may be out a while. That would be his 7th documented concussion. He's headed right for CTE and it's very sad.

I really don't see why they're going to start Keenum. He does not impress me at all. He isn't better than Haskins and I feel the only reason they're starting him is he's played more games. I personally think DH actually moves better in the pocket than Keenum does. If Gruden can just call some plays like he did last night then put him in there.

I like how Gruden was using the slants last night. Hopefully we'll see more of that.

And Guice looked great too. Good to see him out there.

I know it's pre season but get #58 in there. Kid can rush the passer. He's looked more explosive than Sweat.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but based on what I have seen from the highlights, it seems like Haskins likes to throw down to sidelines. Once Haskins and WRs are able to get on same sync in this area, I imagine this will go really well for the offense.

Re: Redskins vs Falcons PS Week 3

Thoughts after watching last night:

Guice, Guice, and Guice. Exactly what I saw from him at LSU, powerful runner, great vision, and breakaway speed. He is going to be a stud.

The defensive line aka Capital Punishment (terrible name but lets move on) is going to be a problem for a LOT of teams

Landon Collins is exactly what this team ordered for the SS position.

Cassanova Mckinzy is gonna be a good rotational pass rusher

Bostic is all over the field

Haskins and Harmon seemed to be getting a chemistry last night.

Not impressed with Keenum nor will I be but I accept he is the starter come week 1.

I don't get how Ereck Flowers has a job

The 3 best surprises this pre season are Moreland, Holcomb and Bostic IMO.

ILB was a big question mark entering camp and it seems we have a solid solution there !

If Haskins arm talent doesn't make you drool I don't know what will.

Flowers would be cut soon if Trent was back

Not only that but when he's out there you get the feeling that he belongs. That he'll improve with each outing. With Keenum he ain't going to improve.

I'm going with Haskins, Guice and the young wr's. I'm living with their mistakes and playing for the future, starting week 1 in Philly.

I would start Haskins because I don't care to go 8-8 or 9-7 at best but Jay does and needs to win 9 games to keep his job so he will go with Keenum, and also wtf is up with these QBs and #8? 3 in the last 3 years? Weird

Re: Redskins vs Falcons PS Week 3

Why don’t we let this team come together with the vet QB at the helm then once we see the run game and the new Wideouts making plays and we figure out if the Oline can protect .. at that point I would say put the Kid in.. way to many questions now to throw him to the wolves.. we should know in the first 2-3 games what we have . Ask yourself If we can’t pass protect who do you want back there getting beat to hell ..

I don't think that's true, but I do think that if Trent was beside Flowers our left side would dominate in the run blocking side of things

Plus he keeps displaying nice mobility in the pocket, and making some nice throws under nasty pressure !
