Re: Redskins sign WR Donte’ Stallworth to a 1 year deal
Seriously doubt Moss is cut (but then again, I'm not exactly batting a thousand these last couple of days).
Can't really compare LJ to Moss. Putting aside Moss' history with the franchise, there's a big difference between Torain and Williams having four months to move WP and LJ out the way; and Stallworth and Gaffney (and the others) having four weeks.

I don't know if Gaffney has ever played the slot in his career. I don't remember him doing so in New England or Houston and know for a fact that the Broncos used Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal out of the slot the last two years.

Brady threw to him in the slot Pre-Welker and he did play there with Denver at times.

I would be EXTREMELY disappointed if Armstrong did not make the team this year. He was on our team last year, was successful, and does all of the right things, he deserves to be on the team again.
I think he is a lock. If he were to get cut he would get swooped up very quickly by some other team. |

Re: Redskins sign WR Donte’ Stallworth to a 1 year deal
Gaffney is a 3rd/4th receiver at best. BUT he is a decent 3rd option and a very good 4th option. (Yes, after my initial "WTF" moment, I am reevaluating Gaffney).
Probably better at 3/4 then anyone of the younger guys except maybe Anderson. As Tripp has pointed out, however, keeping him may cost some developmental guys. To me, that's classic Vinny Cerrato "wash, rinse & repeat" mode. I just hope they give some the young guys time and reps enough to get some development. At the 3/4th receivers, I would be willing to sacrifice a little production (particularly if 1 & 2 or Edwards/Moss) in order to develop more of the young guys.

Just a suggestion, as this and the Redskins Rumours threads are morphing into a WR discussion, perhaps close the Jarmon thread and start a "When Will We Workout Weleven Wideouts?" - Okay, maybe a different title, but you get the drift (Hey, I like alliteration, so shoot me).
