Re: To 2021 and Beyond .... current politics

Talks between Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer are stalled over a power-sharing agreement on how the Senate will run with 50 senators in each caucus but Vice President Harris giving Democrats a slight edge.

Such an agreement is not unprecedented. There was a 50-50 Senate at the beginning of the George W. Bush administration, and the two parties put together a deal, which McConnell, R-Ky., and Schumer, D-N.Y., are using as a template for their current talks.

The deal would govern the number of senators from each party on committees, likely would allow bills to get to the Senate floor even on evenly-split votes in committee and may even give McConnell some rights on the Senate floor that he wouldn't otherwise have if Democrats had 51 senators.

But the hangup, apparent in public comments from the two senators, is a request from McConnell for assurances that Democrats will not get rid of the legislative filibuster -- the requirement that bills clear a 60-vote procedural hurdle before a final up-or-down vote -- during the upcoming Congress.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mcc...mstrings-talks

roles reversed .... McConnell would never have his republicans sign a pledge bc democrats asked them to.

just change the law so it requires 60 votes instead of 50 to abolish the legislative filibuster and take the nuclear button away from both parties.

Re: To 2021 and Beyond .... current politics

One of former President Trump’s top supporters in the House of Representatives is targeting one of Trump’s biggest House GOP critics.

GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida is heading to House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney’s home state of Wyoming on Thursday, where he’ll hold an event outside the state capitol in Cheyenne.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/gae...peachment-vote

There are some real fringe weird personalities in the House (both sides). In solid red or blue districts .. a kkk grand wizard could win a red district and louis farrakhan could win a blue district.

Why are you traveling to protest or campaign AGAINST a fellow house republican in her state of Wyoming when you represent a district in pan handle Florida? Any re-election against Cheney is a year or two at earliest.

Gaetz is volatile.

Trannies were already in the military before 2017, way to make a big deal out of nothing. If military leaders don't have a problem with it neither do I.

Do you also have a problem with gay guys in the locker room? The same principle applies, who gives a shit as long as they can do the job.

They were already serving we were just putting our heads in the sand thinking they are magically going to pop up now in 2021. Now they can just be themselves. No big deal.

This low-effort shitpost is embarrassing Chico. Why even say anything if you can't come close to a real reason transgender troops shouldn't be allowed to serve?

Republicans need to court all members of our society, and stop with the identity politics in the armed forces.

Vote yes on everything, eventually you'll find they're coming for you next, by that time it's too late.

Always support limited government.

Big government has us 20+ TRILLION in debt.

Massive federal government screws all of us. And this was proven true before Trump, and Obama too.

I'd submit:

All Americans should have honest conversations about politics, identity politics, etc.

When do liberals ever have to uniformly admit that people might disagree with them on anything?

Conservatives get shamed into all of the apologizing. And if we don't, we should apologize for not understanding why we should apologize.

What happens if the people that lead our military members say that "x" group does in-fact effect the rest of the groups? Does anyone think that vote matters? It doesn't!

1. The whoa is me conservative thing ... im going to be mean .. but get over yourself. Like democrats arent called China loving, socialist traitor racist baiters. Yet were called the snow flakes.

Everyone is called something. Conservatives need to drop the victim mentality, whoa is me shit. It makes you look weak. if I was a conservative I would stop worrying about what some whack job like Kathy Griffin might say about me. I certainly dont give two shits about what some dumb ass like Kid Rock thinks about me or democrats.

2. What would you say if military reports and top brass HAVE ALREADY SAID having LGBT in the military doesnt effect performance? Do you think if there was report after report done all coming to the same conclusion it doesnt .. would Trump and apparently you completely ignore the fact that study and reports have already be done on this?

You hypothetically accuse democrats that we would ignore reports if it said it would effect military performance ... but completely overlook the fact that YOU YOURSELF in the real world and not in some hypothetical have done what you would accuse us of.

Why do you care if gay or transgender people are in the military. Youre not in the military so how does it effect you?

Very "libertarian" of you by the way ... to impose your personal view points on others. Restricting other people that in no way infringe upon your own personal life. Conservatives have distorted the libertarian party by picking and choosing what libertarian policies they like while ignoring others. They think screaming "limited government!" doesnt mean no borders, no immigration laws, no rules keeping gays out of military, woman has right to choose. But yall hear "limited government" and come running over like a herd of cattle responding to a cattle call.

It means limited government and personal freedom in all things for all people .... not just the social policies you happen to agree with. Its not a salad bar you get to pick and choose from.

You cant be libertarian and be against open borders. FYI ... its like one of the foundational pillars of libertarian .. every person is a free person unto themselves. You cant be libertarian and be for rules restricting rights of any person including LGBT and immigrants etc .. bc libertarians see every person as a person with the same rights as you.

Yeah ... libertarian .. its harder than you think but so easy to say "hey im a libertarian, Im above the republican and democrat infighting because you all are the same people but not me, im smarter ... Im a libertarian!"

/asshole rant over .. sorry had to get that off my chest. i feel better.

Say anything G1 doesn't like, G1 immediately Trump shames you. He isn't president anymore. I moved on in November. These type comments have zero meaning to me. You do you baby!
