Second, the Redskins have so many needs trading down makes sense. They need help at virtually every position. And with only 2 high picks they are not going to turn things around quickly. |

Cooley also isn’t a fan of Vea or Payne at 13, he did some good breakdowns on them this week. He’s all in on Ronald Jones at RB, not at 13 obviously |

The big knock on Vea is drafting a player who will play a limited amount of snaps at such a high position. The second concern is he supposedly takes plays off. BUT, he was playing 70% of snaps at 350 pounds in the college game where there are way more snaps. If the team was convinced it was workload and not work ethic, I would be ok with Vea at 13. I think he could take a guard or center and put him in the QB's lap in nickle. According to Cooley, Payne has no rush skills either. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Can't lose with any of them. You line up Ridley with Richardson and co and you can have some fun again. Doctson is still a toss up in my mind and you need to give AS some nice big targets to throw to. Either DL is a quality pick and will be an instant starter. I am with you DL is top priority, but if they go Ridley, I won't have a meltdown. Face it, anyone of these three guys will be instant upgrade.

Trading back is cool in theory but you have to find a willing partner to trade with and not trade yourself out of a player you actually want just for a pick. (2011 we traded down with JJ Watt on the board and ended up with Kerrigan and Jarvis freaking Jenkins

Re: With the 13th Pick the Washington Redskins select...
I really don't disagree with you.
I wouldn't be upset if our talent evaluators drafted him based on their grade, not Cooley's at whatever pick matches their grade. I have read about and totally agree with the idea that college production should be discounted somewhat and traits should be prioritized in assigning grades. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Yeah, it is a crap shoot and my top 4 wish list is Guice, James. Fitzpatrick, or Payne

My feeling now is minkah Fitzpatrick is there it’s a no brainer. The Skins would probably reject all offers to move back and take Fitzpatrick. This is the guy they want

Re: With the 13th Pick the Washington Redskins select...
Just listened to Friday's Cooley show.
He broke down Ronald Johnson USC TH. Said he is better than Guice and was a perfect fit for our scheme. He is a second round guy which would free up 13 for defense. He also did breakdowns on Vea and Payne. He said they would instantly become the best run defender on the roster of drafted. He doesn't like them at 13 because of lack of versatility. It's a really good listen. Goes into strengths and weaknesses. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Re: With the 13th Pick the Washington Redskins select...
Who I want them to take: trade down
My best guess on who they will take: no clue Most disappointed if they do take: Da'ron Payne players that I like at pick 13: Lamar Jackson Baker Mayfield Denzel Ward Derwin James Josh Jackson Jaire Alexander Calvin Ridley Maurice Hurst - my favorite player but 13 could be "too early" for him but he'll certainly be gone by the next pick Will Hernandez |

Re: With the 13th Pick the Washington Redskins select...
My Board. I put a spacer in there intentionally because I feel like there's a talent dropoff at that point. The hope would be one of those guys in the top 9 drop down to us. And if it's any of the QBs then trade down is really in play.
I want a very athletic player out of this first pick. Having it in the secondary would thrill me with James or Minkah. That'd be my first preference. 1) Saquon Barkley 2) Bradley Chubb 3) Quentin Nelson 4) Sam Darnold 5) Minkah Fitzpatrick 6) Josh Rosen 7) Derwin James 8) Roquan Smith 9) Tremaine Edmunds 10) Josh Allen 11) Denzel Ward 12) Vita Vea 13) Marcus Davenport 14) Baker Mayfield 15) Calvin Ridley 16) Josh Jackson 17) Da'Ron Payne

Re: With the 13th Pick the Washington Redskins select...
And I should note. Just because I have Calvin Ridley at 15 and Da'Ron Payne at 17 doesn't mean I'd take Ridley over Payne. I think the grades are close enough there that I'd break the tie and go for need.
So maybe I need to tier this a bit more, visually: 1) Saquon Barkley 2) Bradley Chubb 3) Quentin Nelson 4) Sam Darnold 5) Minkah Fitzpatrick 6) Josh Rosen 7) Derwin James 8) Roquan Smith 9) Tremaine Edmunds 10) Josh Allen 11) Denzel Ward 12) Vita Vea 13) Marcus Davenport 14) Baker Mayfield 15) Calvin Ridley 16) Josh Jackson 17) Da'Ron Payne
