Re: Day 2 thread: rounds 2-3
I am thinking it will be either RB Jones or some sort of 2nd string secondary.
I don't see the top 2 remaining interior OL dropping to us. Unfortunately, there are 2 top OL, and 2 top RB's...but there are 12 slots until us

Re: Day 2 thread: rounds 2-3
Wonder if we would move up to Hernandez? He's a monster. I think Guice may slide to us... CLE wont take a RB, Colts are our main threat for Guice imo.

No way we move up for a guard. Giants are definitely getting him. The only reason we would move up would be for Guice...and then how? next years pick? hand someone Kelley? I just dont see it. I would say it is either Jones or some secondary. Although TE theoretically looks like the right value...how do you justify 4 TE's on a team without a starter at Guard or RB? We can pick a guard later or even a RB if the top 2 of each are gone and sadly go secondary depth. It is all about trying to find a starter. Odd's just dont look good though outside of Jones for RB. I hope I am wrong and we get either Guice or Daniels the center.

Re: Day 2 thread: rounds 2-3
To get Guice, actually yeah a trade might be necessary, if you really think he's head & shoulders above Chubb and Ronald Jones.
Here's the order of the 2nd round tonight, and who their top RB is. I'm bolding the teams that could take a RB: 1 Cleveland (lead back: Carlos Hyde) 2 New York (Saquon Barkley) 3 Cleveland (Carlos Hyde) 4 Colts (Marlon Mack who??) 5 Colts (Marlon Mack who??) 6 Bucs (Jacquizz Rodgers) 7 Bears (Jordan Howard) 8 Broncos (Devontae Booker) 9 Raiders (Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin) 10 Dolphins (Frank Gore) 11 Pats (Sony Michel) 12 Redskins There are a lot of teams there who could easily take Guice. Now I don't love the idea of trading up, but next year we're going to have a lot of compensatory picks. If we trade away a pick next year to do it, I might be OK with it.

Which I'm ok with if you don't reach and get value for your picks.

Re: Day 2 thread: rounds 2-3
Would you try to trade for Cleveland's first pick in the second round, and give them our 4th and one of our 5ths? It's the right value, I don't know if they would take it. I imagine the first pick of the 2nd round has a bit of exaggerated value as teams reshuffle their boards.
edit: actually that value is for their second pick, the one after the Giants... |

Re: Day 2 thread: rounds 2-3
I think I'd rather have more swings of the bat. I'd sit tight and take Guice if he's there. If he's not I'd take one of the very good interior offensive linemen or Ronald Jones.
