Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
If this shit is still a pandemic by the fall we're gonna have bigger problems than no football.

As long as two people and cameras exist, we'll never have to worry about that buddy.

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
At this point, my expectation is that there won't be a season this year. But I'm gonna enjoy through the draft, then worry about that at another time. Hope I'm wrong. But definitely better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
I think there will be a season with games played in front of no fans. Players will basically have to be sequestered in hotels and tested regularly.

is the stadium even in LA. It is likely in an outlying suburb.

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
My expectations are:
The season to open, possibly delayed because of the training camp delays. Club level seating will be available Nose bleed seats will not. ground level and 2nd tier will be available as a lottery to season ticket holders, but a majority won't even want to go. In all honesty, would anyone here go to Fedex with a risk of Covid versus staying at home and hosting watch parties??? |

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
I think the league can get creative, how about offering seats at a distance apart? So you lose some $ but not empty stadium money.. I mean Fedex could basically be the norm lol

I just don't see the NFL taking the risk of putting any amount of people in the stands.

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
I think they delay the start of the season to Oct 1st, and then implement caps on attendance. I doubt they close the stands completely. Preseason in September will likely be played in front of empty stadiums though (not that that is anything new)

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
I think this is right. By August the spread of the disease will have trailed off significantly and the momentum will have built up with calls to reopen the economy. The TV deals are worth so much more than ticket sales are, so the NFL will lean towards playing in front of empty stadiums and broadcasting on TV. And we'll all rejoice that we have SOMETHING.
