Yeah I don't know who else it would have gone to...I would have been amazed if he did NOT win it. He has played at an incredibly high level so far, if he can continue this for us than our defense is going to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come!

I guess the thing that sticks out to me about Kerrigan is that nothing negative really sticks out. Like, he's always where he's supposed to be. That's half the battle right there. And it seems with each game he becomes a better pass rusher.

He's done more than Ponder and Gabbert, for any of you who still wanted a QB drafted.

I think Shanny looked ahead and saw extremely better talent at QB this year coming out than last.

Yup. My thoughts mirror most of those already said. Didn't see it as a great pick but figured it filled a need. He just keeps getting better and, like 12th said, he doesn't really seem to have any glaring negatives. While he doesn't have Orakpo's superlative athleticism, he isn't exactly a 98 lb weakling either.

In addition, he makes an excellent counterpoint to Orakpo. (It's a "Remember The Titans" redux). Hopefully, they will be together in the B&G for a looonnnggg time.

Congrats to the rook. Good start to his career, and the future is looking bright for him. What a great pick that turned out to be.

Remember when kids were in a uproar because we didn't select this guy?

1 game played. 1 game on inactive list (AS A FIRST ROUNDER) 1 game on the bench.

2 tackles.

Idk who was in an uproar because we didn't select Robert Quinn, but w/e. I don't think I was enthusiastic about Kerrigan's switch from DE to outside 'backer, but I liked the "strong motor" consistently used to describe him. Hard not to like that pick. We traded down and still got an impact player.

More like Cameron Jordan. But Kerrigan has something that is very difficult to scout: quick skill acquistion, aka "intelligence".

All of those who said he wasn't athletic enough, despite his satisfactory combine numbers, must eat your crow. Now.

Re: Kerrigan is the NFL’s defensive rookie of the month

congrats ryan. like yall didnt know too much about him, was happy enough to move back and get a position of need for the 3-4.

seems to be a good compliment to orakpo. i dont remember if i said this after we drafted him but i was hoping for more of a speed cover OLB b/c fletcher isnt always going to be here to run 40 yards down field with swift TEs but ill take a high motor, gets-it kinda OLB who is strong at the point of attack.

also like the fact ryan is doing a weekly radio appearance. its real cool to hear the players talk for awhile and not just answer a few game specific questions from the media. i like to hear how their house hunting is going, where they like to eat, how are they liking the area, if they have a baby on the way, parents coming in to visit etc.
