Welcome to rebuilding folks. I think that's what we can chalk up the odd roster shape to.

Also, is it normal to cut your draft picks before even the first season starts? I don't remember it happening in years past, but that might be because we don't normally have 12 draft picks.

Yeah that's pretty much SOP as far as late round rookies go. It all depends on how they play in games and in practice though. The ones that end up on the PS are the ones that have talent but are still raw and need the extra seasoning before they can perform on the field. As far as early round draft picks go only rarely will you see a team cut a guy that was a 3rd round pick or higher before their first season starts.

I am pretty happy with the final roster. I wish they had kept Bryant instead of using a roster spot on Stalworth. Very glad Markus White made the team. I am very excited for this season!

Not sure if this means anything at all but on Redskins.com they have the depth chart listed and Hankerson is our #4 apparently.
Surprised White made it. Macintosh is solid, to all the nay-sayers.
White is an OLB so unless they plan on changing his position him being kept is not a knock on Rocky, White is going to be a good backup for us. I love the fact that 3 seventh rounders made this team.

That would make sense. Moss, Gaffney and Armstrong ahead of him... If we're basing it on preseason play, I'd have him down lower than that behind Stallworth & Austin too...

I would place Austin ahead of him as well but not Stallworth.
Thanks for the link . I would have cut one of the WR's before either K . Williams or Royster .
Yeah, I don't get that either. I thought Royster did well enough to make the team -- but what do I know? Keiland didn't see much playing time this preseason; guess the writing was on the wall for him.
25.6 or something is our average age this year on the roster. I think that's towards the lowest in the league? I could be wrong..

Big difference then last year we were like 28/29. something.
With the exception of three players: Rocca, Fletcher, and Sellers who are 36/37, we have a fairly young roster.

Evan Royster and DE Doug Worthington signed to the #Redskins practice squad.

Fletcher doesn't count. He still plays like he's 26/27.

Aldrick Robinson and Maurice Hurt to Redskins practice squad.

Fun fact: Only 27 Redskins remain from 2010 opening day roster and if you include the PS, all of Shanny's picks made the team. These are Mike Shanahan’s Redskins now | ProFootballTalk

Of course, Shanny is never wrong, ever....

That means all draft picks either made the team or the practice squad...pretty cool 12 for 12!
