Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Yeah the Larsen whiff is pretty ugly ^^ But the big man had a very decent game. When our Olinmen started to go down I was like "oh jeez we going full Catalina and Bergstorm again...", but they more than exceeded expectations.
Has Ron (and/or JDR but I doubt the later said anything) been asked about that 4th down sneak ? Brady is so good at it he may very well be getting it no matter what we do on that distance, but man I was like "so the whole world minus our Defense and staff knew it was going to be a QB sneak ?"...
4th and under 1, Brady is the qb, what would be the first play they try that should come to mind? QB sneak - easily. The choice of formation for our D on that play was terrible. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
That was the only criticism I can remember having - real time - during the game. Probably Brady's easiest QB sneak since he's been in the league.

Re: Bucs beat down postgame
with our luck, they would have thrown a targeting flag on a hit to TB12 so its all good

He’s been our best player, which is a nice change from saying Tress Way for the last several years |

+1 Feels good to be saying that - no disrespect to Tress but it's good to say your best player is at an impact position like d-line. |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
Yep, I think it will be interesting to see how opponents will handle Allen now that Sweat and Young are not playing.
I think JDR should play Allen, Payne and Matty together at the same time on some plays. They all are DT but they can do pass rush pretty well. |

The bone head play was the free fg at the end of the 1st half. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Those big bodies too really can clogged up blockers, maybe allowing to send blitzers thru like Curl, Collins, etc. That’s the alignment I’d like to see them come out with |
Re: Bucs beat down postgame
I want to see how Smith-Williams, Toohill and Toney shape up. We have an opportunity for at least one of them to step up in the next few weeks until Sweat is back, not to mention filling in for Young. I want Sweat and Young to be great here, but we need to know if we have the next guy up to take their place in relief anyway.
But also if Young isn't back at the start of next season, doesn't get back to where he was last year etc. then we need to know if we have the guy on the roster to be that needed edge rusher, and if not, plan how to will fill that spot. If one of them really steps up then it gives us the luxury of having trade bait and/or options if Young is absent for longer than hoped. |

Rivera said that none of the free agent pass rushers want to sign with us in the offseason because of Young and Sweat. We likely will have to use draft to find backups. |
