He had time, especially on that first play. He just eyed Moss the whole time. |

Betts kicked ass and the run blocking has been stellar. The pass blocking has been lousy - I don't know if that's a scheme issue (Saunders fault) or guys just getting beat. A lot of the time the pressure was coming completely unblocked. Not to mention stupid ass playcalling when the game is on the line with a few minutes to go. Someone is going to need to wash their hands real well if the Skins win this one, because it will have been pulled deep from someone's ass. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
They won't do a thing with it.
|
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
I am a bit upset at Saunder for not max protecting JC more, and also I am gonna get a bit upset at Campbell. He is dropping back too far, and his windup takes a bit too long.
Oh now you guys are gonna get mad at Al now for running TOO much? hahhaaaa seriously I am so sick of Saunders haters, you guys just look for blame where there isnt any. He was running because you have to stick with the run.
If we passed more, and still lost, people would be mad at Saunders for getting away from the run. This is hilarious.
Dumbass. Nobody ever said "run all the time regardless of what happens in the game." You don't stick with the run when you're down two scores with 3 minutes to go. |

It was only a matter of time before Campbell looked like a rookie.

How much was he running with 3 minutes left? You obviously dont know what you are talking about dumbass. It is ok to mix up a run or two, in late game situations, as long as you dont run every play. |

The playcalling was fine when the game was still in hand, but towards the end, it got a bit too conservative, and they were taking too long with it. Clock management was more of an issue. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
A draw play?

Hope there's a lot of booing at FedEx right now, cause they sure deserve it.

Everyone on the Skins team (except Betts) deserves a Big ole' BOO. They fucking embarassed the entire franchise today.

Damn straight. It's a crying shame when Betts can work his ass off for 155 yards at 5.5 yards per carry and the team ends up losing it. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
You guys are all really stupid. The play calling was ok, but the only problem was we should have protected JC a bit more. JC needs not step back so far, and he needs to release it quicker.
Give ATL credit, they came back when down 14. Our D was owned by ATL, and we should be pissed off at them too. We ran over 30 times with both Gibbs and Saunders style runs, and they worked really well, but we couldnt finish a bunch of times. Turnovers killed us, and we didnt create any so that is what hurt us much more. Keep on hating Saunders, there really isn't any blame to put there. It is retarded fans like you, that breed inconsistency with coaching. Hopefully Danny Boy isn't thinking like you guys, otherwise we won't make the playoffs next year either. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
For the first time ever......I can't believe Im gonna say this.....Gibbs is to blame, and Gibbs should go. Pathetic play calling all around even at the end of the game.

Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
Gibbs can stay..Saunders has to go..Throw him into the Potomic....Or however thats spelled Snyder needs to go too..

Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
I think they are using Two Playbooks which is causing confusion
|
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
JC deserves a bit of the blame. But he's not gonna get a lot of it because he was only playing in his third career regular season game. Let's face it, he's not gonna look like Ben Roethlisberger pre-2006. We all knew he was gonna take his lumps when Gibbs said he was gonna be the starter. It had to happen eventually. Hopefully he just learns from his mistakes this week and corrects them next week.

Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
And plus, did anyone notice how we were giving up 7 yards a carry on defense? You don't win ball games by allowing 200+ rushing yards.
|
Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
Complete ineptitude by Gibbs/Saunders on the last series. First a spike by JC on first and goal, then a fade to Thrash who has no ups, and then a dumpoff. Finally, instead of kicking the FG--they run a draw! That might be Gibbs' worst call ever...

Re: Falcons at Redskins game thread 12/3/06
why are you guys so scared to put a bit of the blame on JC????
I'm not. He had a Brunell-like day. The interception was a classic rookie mistake. If he takes the sack instead, we're only down 3 points. There were culprits all around today, not the least of which was the D, who apparently decided to take the day off. |

it is jc fault b/c he had cooley wide open a couple of times. OL b/c they didn't give jason great protection. Defense b/c i could of run all over them. well, lets see what happens next year |

What's the point of a field goal? There were problems all around, man, stop trying to pinpoint it on one person/coach |

I can't wait for all the 'get rid of Gibbs' and 'we should draft Brady Quinn' threads.

You need two scores--you kick the field goal and try for an onside kick. It's coaching 101. Especially considering our kicking game--you take an easy FG and live to possibly play some more. And I did not pinpoint the entire loss on this series--just an observation that our game management (which is coach driven) is pathetic (and has been since Gibbs returned). |
