Of course he hasn't. I mean the guy only watches infinity-billion hours of game film a week so he can have 5 different plans for virtually every look the defense throws at him. Not to mention he lives and breathes football and probably dreams about dreaming of football when he goes to sleep.......so yeah it's plausible. |

i dont see these spots as more attractive than we are. the cards dont have much cap room, they do have a stud WR in fitzgerald. the fins have a good defense, and Marshall at WR. the broncos have a ton of cap room but arent normally big spenders so it might be hard for them to land manning. Jets have a loose cannon as a coach, if people dont think manning and the shanahans cant coexist, how could rex ryan and manning. the seattle team we beat this year, they have less offensive weapons than we do IMO. yes they have lynch but not much else. |

HAHA. In an alien world, I'd love for him to just come out and say what his ideal fit would be. Just on the outside, I DO think the Jets are the best situation for him. |

So all of those teams you just listed are his best options. I see one team up there who would make sense from a winning standpoint. The Jets, really they are a side show now. Does he really want to go to his brother's city and play for those goof balls who share the Super Bowl champs stadium. The Fins, who are picking two measly spots behind us. Yeah there are some good things there and plenty of bad. New Coach, owner, blah blah. Seattle, really, really? Not even going to go here. Yeah go get your ass kicked by San Fran twice a year and live in the rain. The Broncos, now these guys could win with PM. Really the best possible option you have up there. The Cards, they have nice weather. I have heard this so many times in the past couple of weeks that I am so sick and tired of it. So a guy is going to go play somewhere because of the weather. Cards are big spenders now and have a great franchise? Why cause they went to the SB a few years ago and lost. They have a great WR. wow. Who knows where the guy goes? I am just sick of hearing about all of the reasons this guy is going here or there. We will see. We can offer the guy a SB winning coach, a chance to become the king of DC, a chance to kick his brothers ass twice a year, and a promise to build something great quickly. We have a defense, give us an offense and you are damn right we can make the playoffs and who knows once you get in. |

because he probably wouldnt be there. if we get manning and then browns trade with rams then the draft would probably look like this. 1.Colts-Luck 2.Browns-RG3 3.Vikings-Kahil 4.Rams-Blackmon 5.Bucs-Clairborne 6.Skins-??????? |

if the browns and rams swapped picks, which team would take richardson that picks ahead of us. maybe if another team trade up. |

I see us trading down if we get Manning taking Stephen Hill and Mike Adams

Richardson is a better back than anyone on the Browns or Bucs. And Steven Jackson is not getting younger. So any of those three teams might take Richardson. |

well if the browns dont trade up and say the dolphins do. then i could see the browns maybe taking richardson. but dont see rams taking richardson at #2 or #4 if they do trade with browns, and the Bucs have bigger needs than RB IMO. |

Add the Chiefs to the list. I just don't see him wanting to play his brother twice a year with all the other options he has to choose from. Forget everything else. The O line and weapons talk is stupid. If he did decide to come here, we'd be the top option for just about every free agent WR out there and one top flight WR is all he would need. The O line is going to be improved no matter what. Just can't see him wanting to play in the NFC East. And the money situation will work itself out. Teams would find a way to structure a deal and/or he'd take a pay cut. He's not chasing money at this stage of his career. |

If you guys think we are really wanting to trade all that for RG3 think again, BA and MS aren't about trading picks like that.

I think it's crazy to think it's not a factor when considering ALL of the options. There's a difference between a Manning vs. Manning Super Bowl vs. 2 mandatory regular season games each year. The chance to meet in the Super Bowl would be a sensible reason to stay in the AFC, in my opinion. |

Easier to say that on Peyton Manning day eh :D Still I think it's safe to say we have enough viable rumors linking us to a trade up with St. Louis. Just because they horded picks last year doesn't mean they'd be adverse to trading them this year. If they get Manning then fine trade down and hoard picks but if we don't get Manning we all but have to trade up for RG3. I mean really, who else is there besides Manning and RG3 that can stop the staff from getting fired and preventing another episode of roster turnover that would make the stockpiling of picks a moot point? Quality over quantity my friend, quality over quantity. |

he is an competitor, and they both play in the NFL. he will go where he fits in the best for him, wherever that it is. i just cant stand the talk about "he wont go to skins because he will have to play eli twice", or "he wants to play in dome or warm weather". if he goes to dolphins he could have to play in NE, BUF, and New york in the winter time. |

Claiborne's a possibility if we don't get a corner in FA, which could now happen should Cortland or Carr go to dallas..which would really suck. |

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
I don't know where or how the 49ers were thrown into the mix for PM but I'm hoping to put it to rest unless someone else has something different.
49ers say they’re not even thinking about Peyton, but open to Moss | ProFootballTalk
Although there appears to be nothing imminent between the 49ers and soon-to-be free agent quarterback Alex Smith, the 49ers’ front office says that bringing back Smith is the focus of the franchise — and that signing Peyton Manning hasn’t even been discussed. “We haven’t had Peyton in here nor are we even talking about those things internally right now,” 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke said on KNBR, via the Sacramento Bee. “Is he going to play? I don’t know. That’s for the doctors to make the decision on and for him himself.”

But all indications are that, despite what Jerry Rice may think, the 49ers are ready to rule out Manning. Quality over quantity my friend, quality over quantity.
I don't get this moth to a flame crap about RG III. I mean come on Cam Newton came out as a beast, but he will be on a losing team til they build one for him. RG III will suck on our team if we give up a bunch of high rounders. Do you really think our patch up line is going to help this kid? We have no depth at any position. Our most consistent wideouts are two old school vets and one in his prime. These newbies suck, minus Hankerson. I pull for Niles Paul, but I doubt he is going to cut the mustard outside of the PS. Don't even get me on our defensive backfield, minus Landry. Oh and don't forget we might be showing Fletch the door, which means our best LBs are Orakpo and the still green Kerrigan. ANd as for the quantity over quality stuff? Yeah that works if you have some depth, but we don't have that luxury, and sometimes quantity overcomes quality. Ask the Germans that fought two world wars about that. Sorry dude, but Manning is going to take one hit from Pierre Paul and co and lights out baby, the guy is going to be down for the count. If Peyton was smart he would just retire gracefully like Joey T. As for RG III, I have seen him earn his hype, then that KSU game he choked, so he is a good one, but I am not as sure he is going to be another Cam Newton. |
Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
So you guarantee RG3 will suck here? Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
We are totally talent deficient and will stay that way if we keep giving up picks for overhyped players. Jordan couldn't win a title til they brought in Pippen, Kucoch, and the rest of the gang. Shoot towards the end of the six title run, they had half the Detroit Bad Boys on the bench!!!!!! My point being is RG III isn't going to automatically make a bunch of scrubs title contender, much less divisional champs. I like the one rumor that had BA and MS trade down to 20 and get Tannehill or Weeden. We could garner maybe another second rounder and get a decent G or C, or both with 2 second round picks. We need to upgrade everything my friend, and not just QB.
So you guarantee RG3 will suck here? Thanks for clearing that up.
With a starting offensive line that would be bench warmers on the contenders, yes he would. Cam Newton did marvelous things with the Panthers, but it didn't translate into many wins now did it. Why? Simply because he couldn't do it all, and his defense sucked. I am not saying RG III is going to suck with his performance, but he isn't going to win, with this sorry ass team we have overall. How many Pro Bowlers do we have on our squad? Or I should say Pro Bowl potential? Not too many dude. If the Giants stay relatively intact next season they will repeat as NFC East champs. We might end up being bottom feeders again, unless we really strike gold with FA and the draft. |

yeah, cause it's not like the clts went from the playoffs to the #1 pick because of a single play... oh, right. and it's not like cam newton did all that m.... oh, sorry, i forgot. if you want a great QB or LT, a top 5 pick is the safest way to get there. how many great teams won without a QB? ravens in 2000, the bucs once... how great were the teams in the SB this year? one lost to us twice and both had horrid defenses, but they had QBs that saw them through and made up for those issues. if you switch eli or brady for rex grossman, we'd be in the playoffs and they'd be picking in the top 10. This isn't basketball, you can't keep players for 10 years reliably. sometimes 40% of the roster turns over in a single year... how many player do we have from 2005? or 2008? how much longer should we "build"? whats the point of circular building if it can't lead anywhere without a QB? |
