Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
So are most of you saying Stafford over Watson? Watson is younger and has more upside. Getting either QB jets us into 10+ games won per season. Our defense went from the cellar in 2019 to a #4 rated defense this year. We can move even HIGHER with the addition of a couple of FA this off-season (LB, DB) and resign Allen and Payne. Sweat & Young will be even better next year!
It’s the offense that needs to improve. We draft heavily for the left side of the OL (OT, OG); we bring on a very good or better FA - WR burner to play oppose MacLaurin. We hire a FA TE. With WATSON or STAFFORD this offense goes from the bottom into the top 10 instantly. We offer our #1 this season AND the #1 AND #2 next year. It’s going to take that much to get either of these elite QB. We also have Heinicke as a GREAT backup QB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think most are saying Stafford because it's a more realistic scenario. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'd say Stafford because he costs us lest than Watson. Much less.

RG III released, problem solved. Backup the Brinks.

On ESPN Get Up this morning Adam S. Said there are only 2 realistic options for Watson.
Jets Dolphins Said they have the most to give up and Houston would listen to them |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Watson was always a pipedream. I'll move on from the dream.
I'm assuming a Heinicke/Allen competition for the No. 1 spot next year until proven differently by a signing/trade/draft pick. |

The only way San Fran comes off Stafford is if they really like Trey Lance or Zack Wilson. Jimmy G is done..he probably goes to New England...patriots are another big competitor for Stafford if available |

Yeah he has already said QB1 is the top priority , he wouldn't have said that if we are rolling with the 3 on the roster now. Watson was always a dream scenario Stafford / Ryan are way more realistic. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
But dreams do happen
Almost every single night I dream of Watson |

It's hard to know what RR is thinking, but I'm sure there are a handful of free agent QBs he is going to look at, along with the possibility of trading for a Veteran. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Another name to watch as a trade target is Teddy Bridgewater, Hurney signed him last yr and he has that Scott Turner connection.
I'm not a huge fan but it's a good backup plan to have |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Watson has completed one year of a four-year, $156 million deal. He has a $10.5 million base salary 2021, $35 million in 2022 and $20 million in 2023.
