Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
I was going to try to do the whole 53, then I realized I haven't got a clue.
My main shock cut would be Grossman, and they decide to use that surprise spot to keep the 4th RB without any loss at WR or DB's. I doubt it would happen, but honestly Cousins impressed the heck outta me, and seems like he could hold his own if it came down to it. |
Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
Big news this morning as the NFLPA has approved the new IR rule. Meaning one player could be place on IR and come back mid-season.
This could easily be someone like Hightower, even Helu still depending on how he feels over the next 48 hours. |
Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
There's no way Hightower makes this team over one of Helu/Morris/Royser right?
Seems hard to justify in my opinion. |
Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
no way they keep 11 dbs. 9 is more likely, and they'll keep more than 7 lbs for sure.

Yeah's he on PUP. Can be activated any time after the 6th game |

Won't be holding my breath. |
Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions
So is there a strong case that can be made that we keep all 4 RBs? And if so, wouldn't you think one of them would be deactivated on Game days? The Redskin's backfield is a wonderful mess, but a mess just the same. I feel like if we cut one of these guys (Hightower, Helu, Royster, or Morris) they will get immediately picked up.

He's, at least for the first halfish of the season, the rock solid #2. #2 meaning if RGIII gets hurt Rex comes into the game. If RGIII is hurt for an extended period of time I would bet Cousins gets the starts though. Rex is the guy they don't have to spend the whole preparing him to play. He's just plug and play. |

Rex is the guy they don't have to spend the whole preparing him to play. He's just plug and play.[/quote] But at some point, he's just a blank spot. If he is on this year, it's a high probability he won't contribute one bit, and if he does, history shows he gives us about a 50% win rate. Cousins won't contribute at all if he stays, but he's got to be on the roster, not going to PS because another team will pick him up, so why have two deadspots at backup qb. Doesn't seem worth it, especially considering the battles going on at other spots. If we keep all 4 RBs and 2 FBs, it's pretty much a guarantee all 6 will contribute during the season. I know Rex is a comfort zone keep, but I think Cousins showed enough that Rex' spot ought to be at least within the discussion of the cuts. |

Griffin is so fast he'll hike the ball to himself, hand off then cut block whichever side of the defense the run is toward. On passes, well clearly the ball will be as if transported to the receiver's hands. |
