What if we go 7-9, 8-8 for the next 3 years, and then lose McNabb, Parker, Portis, Johnson, Moss? The team has to start to rebuild all over again.
Then the plan that they are following didn't work, and we have to try again. I imagine we will be competitive, and nothing so far implies that they don't have an idea of what they want to accomplish. |

What kills me is all these people are never around for the discussions we have, they show up out of nowhere and complaint over and over again, and then they'll disappear. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
schefter must be confident that the Pats don't want Bryant.. but he hasn't clued on who they will take

In the last 6 years we were 6-10, 10-6, 5-11, 9-7, 8-8, and 4-12. That would be an improvement. PM me. I will bet thousands of dollars that Shanahan takes us to the playoffs before he is gone. |

No one usually has a clue on what New England will do, except the Dark Lord of the Sith. |

if you continuously build you won't have to you repair something when it wears and starts to break, not once it's completely shattered |

Don't even think of mentioning that in each of those 3 upcoming years you mention we will have FA and the draft bring in more players. If the roster stays static the next 3 seasons, then yeah, I might share your pessimism. As it is now, just shush dude. All your hating started because you think we made such a fail with a tackle rated just a hair lower than your beloved Okung. God forbid you let the guy put on a friggin uniform before you condemn him. It wasn't a reach at all. It's not like we took Heyward-Bey 7th overall. |

Packers needed to get younger on the O-line. Bulaga even looks like a cheesehead sporting the crewcut ;-)

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
Please sell me more on Williams.
from Wes ODonnell, no clue who he is but here are his points: Here are five reasons why the Oklahoma Sooner, Trent Williams, is the best offensive tackle in the 2010 NFL Draft. Athleticism When all the hype was surrounding Bruce Campbell of Maryland at the NFL Combine, Williams quietly posted great numbers of his own. At 6’4" 5/8, 315 pounds, Williams showcased fantastic speed, burst, and explosion posting a 4.88 40, 34.5 inch vertical jump, and a 9’5" broad jump. All three of these stats were good enough for top three in their respective categories. He has great agility, fantastic feet, displays good balance, can get up to the second level and make plays and can recover if beat. Versatility Williams was a do everything guy at Oklahoma and has played almost every position on the line effectively. He has played inside, he has played outside at both left and right tackle, and even ended up at center one point. He understands how and where to set up along the line and how to position himself to make the biggest impact. Physicality Williams displays a fantastic first punch and utilizes his strength off the line very well. He is also extremely tough and displays that nasty streak you look for in a lineman. He is not necessarily the biggest or the strongest, but he makes up for it with his power and intensity. Experience A by product of spending time all along the offensive front, Williams has experience for wherever he is needed. He has also played at a high level of competition throughout his career and is no stranger to top talent. His time against upper-echelon pass rushers is a huge positive. Upside Combining all four of these traits together makes for a potential star at the next level. The versatility to do whatever is asked of him, the athleticism to pull it off effectively, the physicality to make it count, and the experience in performing make Williams a hard prospect to pass up. Without comparing Williams to the other tackles in this class, he certainly has the physical and mental attributes to warrant his being selected as the top tackle of 2010. Yet, Okung is a solid player, but unspectacular. Bulaga is a talented prospect but may max out at the right side of the line and Davis has potential similar to Williams’ but has a few concerning hurdles to clear before he can make that kind of impact. When comparing him with the other prospects, Trent Williams provides the most foreseeable opportunity to become the biggest star at the next level and is the best tackle prospect of the 2010 NFL Draft class. On Thursday night the Washington Redskins will have quite the decision on their hands at No. 4 overall. Not only is Williams the best tackle in this class, he should be the first tackle selected. |

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
NFLN. Much better.
Pats just traded down (again) to Denver, who is now moving up. Tebow? Methinks. The Patriots already had a bunch of second rounders, and 12 picks in this draft. My guess is they now have 13 total picks. How cool would that be?
And ESPN has many things people watching NFLN don't see. All a matter of taste. ESPN will have more CFB footage and way better graphics and NFLN will have combine footage and Rich Eisen... |
