Shannahan's press conference makes me ill... What a piece of shi*t! They also showed the video tape of Haynesworth being told he wasnt going to play today, he sure as hell didnt look sick.

I cant believe Shanny kept AH on the side. Why the hell didnt he just try to trade him early on? The only thing I can think is he is trying to devalue him.

If that's the case, Shanahan is hurting the Redskins. If/when he trades AH we won't get squat, bad move in my opinion not play him.

Right, it makes no sense. But if AH cares at all about his legacy he will either conform and continue what could have been a HOF effort (Not counting this season) or lose his chances of getting paid in the future and drift off in the world of could have beens.

He probably figures that he'll end up in Tennessee next year and doesn't give a shit. Wouldn't surprise me if he has spoken with Fisher about coming back.

IMO Shannahan has already lost the team with the way he's treated his players. We'll end up going 5-11 this year, our team is completely demoralized now.

I have to agree with you about the way he has handled the players. Sometimes it seems like Shanahan's ego is bigger then the team.
His message to the players seems more important than winning.

I does suck. After going 4-12 last season I was ok with going less than .500 this year as long as we are building for the future. I would like to the see the play of the team improve each week. Not decline!
I am also tired of Shanahan's coaching style. Or lack of it.
We would have never won three SB's if we had Shanahan instead of Gibbs. Shanahan benches players because they are injured or sick adn cannot practice. Gibbs would let Riggins, Jumpy Geathers and Schlerath to name a few sit out all week and play on Sunday. And they would kick ass in the game.
Hey Shanhan this is football and people get hurt. Moron. If they get better on Sunday...PLAY THEM!
Missing pracitce for a health reason is ok. Bench or deactivate a player because his play sucks, not because he can not practice.

in this case, he is punishing AH for his illness. Face it, they don't like each other and AH is gone after the season, if not sooner.

Proof that Shanahan's ego is more important than winning. If there was one game (Giants power running game) that we need AH, Shanahan deactivates him. Shanahan you win, you proved you point. Now check your ego at the door. Moron. And get rid is Hasslett. Your defense gave up 21 points in the first half on uncontested runs. Great defense!

Hell yeah some times these guys need some recovery time, I just dont understand his way of thinking. I know for the last few years alot of our players took to practicing like it was a waste of time. But **** you got Heyer in there when Trent is suited up and looks like he is waiting for his number to be called.

The thing I remember hearing before the Redskins hired him, was the media and all the "know it all professionals" saying how Shanahan having been out of football for a year how hungry he was, how much research he had done on offense and defense. Well, let's see some results.

Re: Week 13: Redskins vs. Giants Gameday thread

I expected a struggle with the Giants. The Redskins are a depleted team [that's no excuse] but even with a full deck they would have had their hands full with a Giants team clearly at this stage is the better football team. Once again they didn't seem prepared, played with little emotion and turned the ball over six times. That's a formula for losing in any league. We have an up-hill battle to reach respectability.

Man I feel the same, Honestly GM I dont know how much more I can take of this stuff. I get so excited for Redskins football the entire off season and I watch this shit every week. We haven't been good since I was like 5! We have only made the playoffs like 3 times since then. It's just hard to sit through every season when you see Cowboys fans or Eagles fans see their team winning and drafting Star players. Yea Dallas sux this season but they are still a good team full of talent. The Skins don't have anything that scares other teams. 98 is a really good athlete but he has to get better, he's still no Ware, Dumerville or Matthews. McNabb is a solid QB but he's OLD and not our future. We have NO WRs at all and we are starting a different FA RB every game. Sometimes during these games I actually wonder why I'm such a TRUE skins fan? I must admit the team has worn on me, I hate Losing at anything I do and I really hate when the team I spend alot of $ on (clothes, DTV, Car accesories, etc.) plays so bad that you dont even want to watch anymore. yep....as the last post said "The Skins don't have anything that scares other teams."....I think it was late in the 3rd where we had a 3rd down and the Giants were jumping around and rabid.....and we did the false start...that shows fear!.....we don't have that, who is scared of our offense or defense?........it was all around a pathetic effort, no running, no blocking, no tackling, no sacking, no passion (except on the sidelines)......but, as I told my buddy, I was hoping for 8-8 this season, beat the cowboys, and be competitive in every game......still have a chance for the first two......have major issues to address in the offseason......and they focus on the lines first...

Re: Week 13: Redskins vs. Giants Gameday thread

We were exposed today by a team that we simply can't match up with. Even w/out 2 o-line starters it was a cake walk for the Giants o-line. They manhandledour defense. AH really wouldn't have made a difference. And their d-line just caused havoc. I'll keep on saying this but we simply must get younger this off season and I would expect and hope that a lot of the older guys will not be back.

what are yall talking about??? MS. Has to establish rules within a organization that has lacked discipline for 15+ years. Playing players that show up late to meetings or lie about being in football shape should NOT be rewarded by playing them anyway.....discipline is the reason CP showed up to camp in the best shape in years...our problem is lack of talent.....(he did botch mcnabb benching)...its going to take time ppl....remember...we won only 4 games last year

It's going to take time but changing the defense was MS idea cause he thought using a 3-4 would cause more turnovers. Well we went from a top 10 defense to the worst in the NFL. He has to take blame for that. MS should've just worried about fixing the offense and left the D alone. This 3-4 has been a complete cluster ****.

So i suspect we go to the 4-3 defense next year...Haslett i think will be gone.

One thing is for sure though, we need to find an offense. we are in need of a O-Line badly. The skins are gonna have a good draft pick this year, they should draft all offensive linemen with their picks and maybe sign like one skill player...

Re: Week 13: Redskins vs. Giants Gameday thread

We might have had a chance if haynesworth had played, if Rabach was replaced at center, and our receivers had not tipped a McNabb pass to give the Giants an interception. Well, this proves my theory that Shanahan and his son are a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic, and that he needed Elway to win in Denver. Could we sign Elway, please? I know Haynesworth needs to go, but while we're paying him, just go ahead and treat him like a diva, give him a Snickers bar and let him play on Sundays. But don't make the 'Skins look so inept. Orakpo needs a rest because he's hurt, not Haynesworth, who has had a long enough rest! Also, I would certainly sign Selvish Capers (the big tackle from WVU) and see if he can play. And get somebody who can call plays!!!

I'm starting to feel the same, and I thought that would never ever happen. I'm wondering why I bother scheduling my Sundays around the Skins game, just to waste 4 hours watching them get pounded. Right now, they could be the worst team in the league. I don't care who they've beaten this year or what their record is. They just blow. It would take a really bad effort from a really crappy team to lose to the Skins right now.

To add insult to injury, the expansion team in that one-horse town, Baltimore, is really good, and they have a young QB who will be their bonafide starter for the next 10 plus years. Watching them now, and want to puke.

Hagan is a career journeymen so I'm not sure why our DB's weren't getting physical with him. I've just had enough of this defense. We really don't seem to have any type of gameplan or ever seem to make adjustments.

The funny thing is it looks like our guys really don't know how to tackle and that comes down to coaching. Rocky is grabbing at Jacobs shoulder pads, Reed D. is grabbing at ankles, and don't get me started on Moore.
