Maybe we are a preference as opposed to him going to an AFC team?
Maybe a preference for the Texans in that respect. However, with his no trade clause, D Watson has the ultimate say with regard to destination if it comes to a trade. |

I think we could win that if he wants out that bad and the Texans say DC or stay in Houston. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I think that Watson is the guy we should try to get, unless the new GM, Rivera and Kyle Smith can find a franchise QB below top three or four QB taken in the draft.
IF the war room ( without Snyder inputting anything hopefully ) can find a Diamond-in-the-rough QB, that would be the ultimate solution. That drafted QB could learn from Taylor Heinicke until the rookie can challenge Taylor for the QB ( if he gets that good). It’s a win-win. Watson will cost a lot of prime draft picks to get that trade. But he will generate an INSTANT offense - upgrading the most important position of the game, QB, and with some key FA swings at WR, TE AND OL. Takes One of the worst in Off this year and gets us easily into the top ten immediately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I’d offer 3 1s for him now
You're in the range but I think they could get even more than that. How old is Watson - 25 or 26, maybe? And he's already an established NFL star. Probably a Top 5 QB for many years to come. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'd suggest that the number of picks may not be a decider, more the quality. We're we to offer our next 3 1's, versus (for arguments sake) the Jets making the same offer, there is a far better chance those Jets picks would be in the top 10 than ours. Were the Jets to offer 2x1's they may well take those over 3x1's from us.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I can't get excited about a possible trade for Stafford. He's a very good QB but he's been injured a lot in recent seasons. I mean A LOT. I think he's a health risk.

He plays through most injuries though and still manages to be very productive. That wouldn't scare me off him. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Yahoo articles are always trash but I clicked on one because it had the headline "5 players WFT may need to trade to get Watson".
Their list: Montez Sweat Landon Collins Matt Ioannidis Brandon Scherff Chase Young https://sports.yahoo.com/5-players-washington-might-involve-044231441.html Yes to Collins and OK to Iaonnidis, but a big HELL NO to Young, Sweat and Scherff. |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'd trade anyone not named Young on that list.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Throw in Apke and Bostic to sweeten the pot 😄

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Watson is 25. Go “ all in “ for him. Even three 1st round picks. You can even throw in Landon Collins. With someone like Robinson coming in at WR to balance MacLaurin, and Cam Sims competing with Harmon for slot WR. Suddenly we have an awesome WR group. Being in one more FA Wr as a backup or #5 WR.
We also need to draft for the OL. Use our #2 to get the best OG or OT (left side). Martin and Christian are done. In fact, I see us drifting for the OL with AT LEAST two picks or more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Charlie Casserly “Matt Stafford isn’t going anywhere”
Idk if he has inside connections or not but this sucks if true |
Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Fun to dream about but it's hard to see Watson going anywhere and I'm still really not sure why Detroit would bail on Stafford given he still has plenty of good ball ahead of him. Anything can happen I guess but if I had to bet on it, I'd bet they're both back with their respective teams.

Yep.. This isn't a good year for WFT to look for QB due to limited QB options in free agency and too many teams need a new QB. I still believe there's a good chance we will roll with Allen/Heinicke/rookie QB. |
