Cutler makes it easy to hate on him. This latest criticism probably isn't fair, but it comes with the territory for him.

Cutler may treat this like every other perceived negative issue - with indifference. If I was him, the biggest thing I'd be caring about was what my teammates, coaches, and bears decisionmakers thought. And publicly they appear to be backing him up.

It's been enjoyable to say the least to see helping after helping of crow being served. Watching all the flak directed at Cutler on Sunday was horrifying. The worst being Phillip Rivers used as a reference, while conviently leaving out the fact that Rivers needed a procedure to help him play That's not to take away from what Rivers did but this absurd idea that Cutler could have gone back the same day. As doctors have pointed out Cutler would have missed around a month worth of games for this same injury and he most certainly wouldn't have been able to play the same day.

Kinda torn here becuase I'm old school ....play till it falls off or put dirt on it and it will get better school!Yet all we have to do is see how teams and Doctors of teams and trainers are all under scrutiny now ,I think the person people should be looking at is Lovey Smith............if it was his call and I'm hearing it was....he needs to come out and say something.

Kinda ironic how the players themselves were at the forefront of this, and they are always the first to complain when the media jumps all over them without knowing all the facts.

I think it's the medical staff's call, not Lovey's. Jay said he wanted to play, but after that first series, they told him to shut it down.

I'm getting a huge laugh at all these nerds (reporters, fans, etc) claiming how he's a pussy and how they would have done this or that. Listen, most of these chumps hating on Cutler call in sick to work when they have a slight head ache, never the less a level 2 sprain MCL trying to play a violent game. That Rivers crap people keep talking about fail to mention that Rivers came out of that game he was actually hurt in. Where was the hate there? He had a procedure and played 6 days later. Stupidly mind you, but he played.

It's a shame the media is the way it is, but it's part of the overall problem our country has.
Regardless of the injury, his demeanor could have been a bit more encouraging to his teammates on the sidelines yesterday. I get that he was frustrated, but that's as good a time as any to rally beside your teammates, particularly the 3rd string QB trying to get you to the Super Bowl

Yeah but that his been MO his entire career...when it comes to body language dude just does the wrong things as well... Immaturity is one of those "intangibles" you get with Cutler as well, you sign up with that when you make that trade
How do you guys know what he's doing on the sidelines? You see what 10 secs of Jay Cutler footage on the TV and assume he's doing that the whole game. You guys are worse than the media and Chico you are spewing up talking points from idiot media pundits. Body language? As a person who's studied body language, I can assure you that 99% of the people out there have 0 clue as to being able to read body language on a whole. The problem is the guy doesn't give a shit about the media (much like Barry Bonds), and he gets crucified in the process. Purely sickening.

Also, to have a guy like Deon Sanders question heart or toughness is beyond laughable. This is a jackass that didn't tackle and told others he was paid to break up passes, not tackle. Guy is a complete asshat and probably should shut the **** up.

The body language thing with Cutler has been well documented. It's not just a fan overreaction, anytime you hear an analyst talk about the guy, they always bring it up. That and the fact he's not known as being a leader.

Heck just this morning on Mike & Mike they asked Herm Edwards if he would want him as his QB if he was coaching. He mentioned the body language and his crappy attitude, and how he's not the type of leader he looks for. He did say he loves his talent though.

Love listening to Herm Edwards and he was 100% correct. Cutler's body language is so pathetic. Great talent but he's got some Jeff George in him. Chicago isn't going to win with him.

Kind of off the subject but some guys you'd have to kill them to get them out of the line up. As annoying and Hollywood as Joe Theismann was, you had to snap his leg off to get him outta there. Phil Simms was the same way. Just a few examples.

Actually what I was trying to say is his demeanor, body language is just who he is and like Matty commented, its very well documented. My point was that how he carries himself should not be confused with his toughness in this situation. Sure I agree the media has 100% has gone overboard with this story, but that really nothing new...question is does Brady, Big Ben, Farve, Peyton stay out of the same game, same injury?

I think what is really fueling this story is not the media's overreaction for once, but how his fellow NFL players reacted so strongly before the game was even over. That's what is so interesting.

Like I said before the doctors are given the final authority to decide who stays out and who gets to go back in. With Cutler, after he came limping off the field the training staff tried to treat him after which they had him attempt dropping back on the sidelines before letting him go back to play. Cutler was unable to plant his foot properly, along with other test led the training staff to believe that Cutler wasn't fit to come back into play. Based on the grade 2 MCL tear/sprain that was discovered after the game the doctors made the right choice.
