We'd be a legit SB contender with that roster

HaHa, that's not Monkey's work - that's from Hogs Haven, their mock offseason. |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Yean, I took that off the article I was responding to. :D

My bad. Those are good moves MD, I’ll still take you as gm tho. |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I'd be better than Bruce Allen or Vinny Cerrato at least.
No cocaine would be involved in my draft picks. |

ProFootballNetwork has a WFT specific mock draft...

I don't see OT as a big need, both guys were very good this yr.

Lucas exceeded expectations. But he is a perfect backup swing tackle. If we can get a young LT like Slater or Darrisaw at 19, for the next 5 seasons at least, I'd gladly take either one. |

I'm having trouble understanding this one. Just doesn't seem to accomplish anything. If we don't make a trade, sign a FA starting QB, or draft one of the guys discussed as round 1 possibilities, would a guy like Mills really be an improvement over Montez as our QB3? Under their draft scenario, where we've already addressed OT, WR, and S, seems like I'd rather look at, say, LB at that spot than select a guy to battle with Montez. Drafting Darrisaw and the 2 Moores is intriguing, but in that scenario, I would hope that we would have traded for someone like Stafford or addressed QB some other way. |

One of the things I like about reading other mock drafts though, is getting to hear some new names you might not by yourself. I don't love that pick, but I'm not against picking a developmental QB if we don't get a viable veteran. |

I think you look at drafting a QB to develop even if you are able to land a Veteran starter. |

If it's a front line locked in starter like Stafford, I don't think it's necessary this draft. Not necessarily against it, but not a necessity. If we get someone like Mariota or Fitzpatrick, I would prefer to draft one this year. |
Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
There's a few mocks out there with us picking Darrington, and the sentiment is he's both BPA and a real need. I agree on both aspects, so if he is the pick I won't be fussing over it. And if the best available WR is there with our 2nd pick Moore seems sound. But I'm still picking up a top FA WR if possible. A rookie WR isn't nailed on to star in year 1 if at all.
But the rest of that draft seems lazy. Not to argue Cisco isn't a good S but our biggest need on D is LB, probably followed by CB. With Reeves and Curl (and Collins coming back?) would you really pick another S over all the other needs? The rest of those picks look to me like someone not really looking at our needs at all, just a list of players they like. |
