Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
But why trade up to get Tebow when Clausen is still on the board?
The clowns on ESPN have no idea a trade was made and Tebow was the pick..
Not watching what's on air right now but the "clowns" definitely knew, but whatever that's neither here nor there As for Williams, not too surprising a pick really. It's been apparent since probably mid February that the Redskins weren't really sold on taking Okung that high. They, like many others, see him as solid but with limited upside. Williams could be a beast. He's extremely athletic, can play LT, RT, and C (maybe even some guard). His problem is that he needs a kick in the pants sometimes. He's not a problem child, or as some would ignorantly call him "an undisciplined thug" By the way, interesting how he said he's never met with Snyder. Changing of the guard I guess. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
think we will jump back into the first?
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
If he falls into the second do we trade to try to get him?

This first round is nuts... I love how we didn't participate in any of it. At what point do we trade or trade up to get Clausen?
Now, if we can do it with players (AH) that would be great. |
AS reporting Dan Williams to Cardinals
Forgot that Williams was still on the board. Solid value this late in the first round.

NFLN didn't cover it till they came back from break unless I missed something huge |
Only if he doesn't have to start this season.
There's no way he'll play right away, he's probably the third QB |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
So QB depth for Denver is...
1. Orton 2. Quinn 3. Tebow My buddy the Broncos fan is shocked. He said they have other needs and he wanted Pouncey. |

Yeah other than the money you're getting a good deal. Probably get a bit of a QB premium too. Play well for a couple of years and they'll lock you up. |

I forgot about Quinn. I guess he'll be fine. Denver seems to have other needs though. I wonder if Orton is only going to be there for just this year. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
Man we could have traded back and gotten Clausen and Brown. Wow.
But why trade up to get Tebow when Clausen is still on the board?
b/c teams usually know when other teams want their player, they obviously saw a team was about to draft him so made a move so they could get him. |

Mike Shanahan confirms the obvious on Trent Williams: "We will pencil him in at the left tackle position and hope he helps us there." |

That would be a net huge step backwards. I forget who I was listening to but the question was, knowing what you know now, if Albert Haynesworth was in this year's draft where would he be picked? The answer: Without question, #1 overall. Trading Godzilla for Clausen does not improve the team. |

The large evangelical christian community in Colorado Springs must be psyched right now. Rest in peace, Jacksonville Jaguars, you had a good run.

Trading Godzilla for Clausen does not improve the team.
Immediately it's a talent step back for 66% of the defensive snaps, but AH doesn't fit well schematically in a 3-4. But at QB we would be set for 10-12 years, far more important than a DT that will only be productive for 2-3 years max. |

Darth Hoody picks up the CB McCourty.

Buffalo did not grab a QB. It's time to trade them Jason Campbell.

I'm all for trading AH if he doesn't fit in the 3-4, but the FO should have done a better job from a PR stand point. Still, I think he'll be a good DE in the 3-4 with Carriker as the other DE. |
